Default My Horrible Weekend!

For the last 6 months I have been selling tickets to a major theme park on ebay.
I started out doing 3-4 sales a day making about $100 profit. Because spring break is a big time for me, I decided to sell as many tickets as I could during the month of March.

Now I'm posting 5 auctions a day, but getting so many request for tickets, I start creating private buy it now auctions. I'm now selling 40-50 tickets a day. I"m on cloud nine, not to mention, making some serious money.

I made the cardinal mistake of not transfering the money out of my paypal account every night and I woke up to find that they froze my account. "What the ?". I'm , I get an email from paypal wanting to know who my vendor was, an invoice for my purchasing the tickets, my SS#.

I provide all the info and I get response back, that they are afraid that I'm a high risk seller. I have over 200 positive feedbacks and now I"m a high risk seller. I called paypal and spoke with the resolutions department. They said they feared that people where creating accounts and there was a high possibility of Identity theft and I could have lots of charge backs. I'm like come on, stealing identities to purchase $40 tickets, you got to be kidding.

I'm like, these are your customers, don't you do a good job of screening them?

After all said and done, account is frozen for 180 days, then they will send me my money.

Tried to get another account, and they closed that one too. So I'm glad I stumbled onto your site. Plan on taking a few weeks off, and then jumping back in the mix.

Thumbs down My Horrible Weekend!

Stories like this make my blood boil. Who do they think they are. I have absolutely no qualms about using some of the dirty tricks I have discovered on here. If PP and ebay screwed, so be it.

1 million!! The guy knew what he was doing! I've been scammed only once in the past by a guy living in Texas and I know how you feel when you realise you just lost your money.

I love spring break too :D This year I've been partying in Deytona beach (fl) and Nassau (Bahamas)! I'm planning to be in Ibiza by march 2009 for next year' spring break, can't wait!

I've read a number of posts about the 180 day freeze and it just dawned on me- I know of another place that did the 180 day freeze for 1 very unlucky customer. All I will say is the reasoning behind it was that was enough time to ensure any bad checks written would come through and the company would know how much they can truly release without running into a neg balance situation. It's not unique to paypal but paypal seems to be trigger happy.
