Ebay Italy. Is it mandatory to provide CODICE FISCALE?

Hi there,

For anybody that registered with eBay Italia, is there a way to avoid providing the 'Codice Fiscale' (equivalent of national insurance number)?
Is it mandatory? Or it's a passage we can skip?
Please let me know.

eBay/PayPal personal accounts doesn't ask for it

Thanks for the answer. I just made some research on google, and saw a few users mentioning that. So you say that private accounts don't ask for it? Maybe it's only for the ones that open business accounts?

Anyway, codice fiscale is not a problem if it has to be provided.

Doesn't that (codice fiscale) make you recognisable if your previous account was blocked? And so get your new account blocked again?

To my knowledge, EB/PP can only verify if the Codice Fiscale is properly "composed" not if it refers to an existing physical person.. if you know what I mean.
