US eBay Less Strict than UK?
 

Hi all,

I thought I'd try creating a US eBay for the first time. US phone number - check, IP address matching the address - check. I opened the account - it asked me to confirm the phone number and viola! I was immediately awarded 10 items without asking for a billing method unlike the UK version and it even offered to expand upon converting to a business account.

Was I simply receiving beginners luck in that country or is the US version of eBay generally less strict with item allowances than the UK version? All I've had over there recently is the '0' error and constant hassle, but in the US it seems more laid back.

Am I right or wrong?

It's not so much a matter of enrolling US PP being "less strict" but the process of doing so, and parameters/requirements will vary region/country.

The item allowances/account limits will largely depend on how the accounts are created. Some of the sellers on this forum are able to create account with 1000/25000 or even 1000/50000 or more using proven techniques.

Mainly, take your listing slow & steady on any new accounts you create. Just because you got an assigned limit doesn't mean you can use it all without risk of limitation. :)
