German Ebay VAT ID
 

Ebay changed the F22 VAT Certificate thing now you have to add your USt id (VAT) in your account directly https://verkaeuferportal.ebay.de/new...2021-maerz/ust

Can Ebay check which adress is behind the vat number or can i use some @@@@ one ? ?

VAT ID can be checked but there are "non public" valid VAT IDs which you could use and they would be valid without having a name attached to it.

However, there is an easy way around it, especially if you have stealth accounts: Just use a "company" which doesnt need to have VAT.

What usually happens to me is that I google some stuff and end up in a forum where somebody asked a question and then somebody replied that the thread is "so old" and some moderator closed the thread because it's "too old". Similar to those answers you read in forums, "why you dont google it" while you used Google and end up in that thread :bounce:

I think what he's trying to say is that VAT ID is not public and thus it can not be checked against public records.

However, the VAT ID number consists of a certain code and has certain check digits, which makes it possible to check mathematically weather or not the given VAT ID might be a legit one or not.

I haven't tried it out myself yet but would also be thankful for any further information.

But how is possible a vat number to be hidden?
All vat numbers must be in a database like is VIES.
I never heard of non-public vat. Can someone please elaborate this?
Or send me a pm if this info must stay private.
