How selling Works on Germany Ebay

Hi

i do like to ask your experiences with selling on German ebay and how personally handle tax number requumient ,as it seems to be similar - but no identical to the Germany ebay system .

sell for limited period /around 2 mounths/, but after that ebay requires you add tax number in order continue selling.

What Im curious about is how peaople actually approach this practice:

-How long do you usually sell before stopping or adding a tax number/selling eu amount/ ?

-Do you belive ebay itself actively reports seller who wont provide a tax number , or does it mainly just block selling after a creation point ?

-In your opinion , how strictly is this enfroced in real life ?

Basically Im intested in how this really works in practice , no just what the official rules say - and how different sellers choose to handle the risk /or avoid it/.

if you are registered in the EU it is strictly enforced , without tax number you will not be able to continue selling as soon as you approach about 1.5K turnover or do more than 30 deals

plus there is an annual 10K intra EU selling limit , once you approach it you will be blocked from selling until you provide a VAT number

all details will be provided by ebay to your local tax authority every january for the previous year

Does providing random information work? Must it be 100% legit? Any experience?

random tax number maybe , random VAT number likely not because it is usually verified

Update:
I was selling on .DE for a few months with a .PL registered account.

They first forced me to convert to business cause it was selling too much.
I did.
They also asked for a NIP number(Polish Tax ID), since the account's original address is in Poland.
I added a random NIP number. Worked fine for a month, and literally 10 minutes ago they hit me with this

So at this point Stealth accounts in Germany are dead.
Unless someone knows better...

if you want to sell in the EU without being forced to provide a VAT number you have to use an account registered outside the EU and have ebay collect VAT

intra EU limit for VAT is 10K , it does not matter which EU country you use , they count turnover made outside that country within the EU and when you approach 10K they ask for VAT

bogus info does not work on VAT and it never did , the only thing you can do is registering for VAT in germany through a local accountant and file tax returns there , it is time consuming but it is really the only way except the one I described above
