| | | unknown1 | 01-04-2012 05:52 AM | How to open an ebay account in China/HK? I am currently living in SZ, China & want to open an ebay account.
Has anyone here done it and how did they do it?
Any help appreciated! |
| beneysz | 01-04-2012 05:00 PM | open HK company/HK bank account for paypal, then just a standard ebay account, or if you have an exisitng paypal account from your own country just use that and open an ebay account as normal, but put the item location down as china/hk |

| imjustme | 02-24-2012 05:09 PM | Only 5 listings per month for the first 3 months are allowed on all asian accounts. |

| sleepyboyz | 04-01-2012 12:14 PM | my hk ebay account can list up to 100 items per month after wait for half year
Monthly selling limits: you can sell up to 100 items or up to HKD 38,000.00 per month |

| FizzyFish | 08-11-2012 12:56 PM | Wow :faint:
Time to move to HK! |
| animalkaiserevo | 08-14-2012 11:42 PM | i think there's a certain bias towards HK accounts cause the ebay asia HQ is located in HK. my sg account after 6 mnths , can sell only 12 items per mnth |
I spoke to eB China in Shanghai today. For those who have not spoken to eB UK & US i will tell you that eB .cn an .hk seem to operate differently without as much smoke and mirrors.
After i explained my situation and my requirements i asked if they would see me in person at there offices to evaluate the situation. They said this was possible and Im considering going if i cant get it resolved remotely.
Anyone been before?
Thanks |

Thanks | Very interesting! I might have to do the same thing now. I got chances to make all 3 accounts since I have USA, HK, and China business licenses :thumb: |
| BlackieCheung | 08-22-2012 12:41 PM | My experience about selling limit is depending on what you're selling and how fast you're selling. For many many sellers in HK which they sell electronic items, that is a high risk item for eBay. If you have a new account, I believe you can only list 5 items in a month in the beginning. To increase the limit, you can call them and ask them to rise. There's no guarantee you can increase it immediately. They will ask what you sell, how much you sell, and things about your operation.
I don't really think they would let you to their office as many angry sellers are trying burn the office down. I have visited their office few times before cause my account was big and they wanted to help me to grow bigger so they can make more money. To be invited, you must have an account manager. To have an account manager, right now you must reach monthly selling around US$50,000.
The only way you can get to "know" them is to join their seminars which they hold few times a year. If you want to call them or have they to call you about selling limit, be ready to have your ID, billing statement ready. This is just in case they will ask you for it to verify who you are. |

How do you stealth and have an account manager? |
| john456 | 07-01-2013 04:09 AM | Sleepy: can you sell directly in other marketplace like UK or SPAIN wiht a Hong Kong account? Quote:

sleepy has not been online since July 2012.
Maybe we should wake him up?
:sleepy: |
| john456 | 07-02-2013 02:06 AM | LOL. Maybe he needs a kiss to wake up from his glass bed. |
| invince | 07-03-2013 11:06 PM | Can sell in other ebay sites. Still the limit is what you have in your account.
i.e. 5 at first, then 30, then 100, then more.... |
| yttfc2 | 07-05-2013 03:52 PM | Hong Kong and China eBay account have far more limit than the ebay accounts in any other country. I have 4 limits in a year from them by the reason "Not performing very well", that account has 100% postive feedback and top-rated status. They decrease your selling limit without telling you in advance... Anyway, ppl here would prefer a stealth account from overseas |

What kind of limit increase have you got over a year? |
| invince | 07-13-2013 12:16 AM | I got a 8-year old account under real info. Was with 1k items selling limit per month.
Suddenly it drops to 224, the other month 5xx, and now 1xx.
That's why I need to go Stealth.
--
But for new accounts it's nice. 5 first then 10 30.
Just call and lifted easily. |

| teedon | 06-12-2014 03:22 AM | Re: How to open an ebay account in China/HK? I think you can not open account on ebay.com if you are in china |
| Van Player | 12-15-2014 12:50 AM | Re: How to open an ebay account in China/HK? ok, let me shed a little light on eB.cn BS for everyone. this bunch of crooks operated separately from eB.com. i know about how they operated cuz i was in china selling on multiple gold/plat. power seller accounts (registered in Canada and US) and shipping via HK to north american (and eu) buyers back in 2007/2008 when they first started expansion of eB.cn
i sat in on more than one of their top seller meetings in posh chinese hotels in shenzhen back in the days (although i was not officially invited, i had many "friends" who were cuz they were chinese registered accounts). what happens is there are big manufacturer backed seller accounts registered in china, that wine and dine these eB.cn big powerseller support reps. they work in cahoots, and can bypass a lot of rules that applies to smaller accounts (such as poor CSR, high neg feedback, even some VeRO that can easily lead to suspension for regular starter sellers). even if that big seller gets listings removed on eB.com for whatever reason (and sometimes after multiple instances of such, resulting in suspended account) one phone call to their eB.cn handlers they can get the account back up. this leads me to believe that pulling listings and suspending accounts are done by US based eB.com team, but ultimately eB.cn team can bring it back to life after the fact, if you are a vip account.
however, they can only do that to chinese registered accounts on eB.cn. so that was the situation back then. im sure it is done in similar fashion now. thats why you see so many big chinese registered sellers dominating so many sectors on eB now, that it is very hard to compete. and some with very low CSR and many neg FB, you wonder how it is they are still selling at all. IMO such accounts should be limited to eB.cn, if they are allowed to operated on an uneven, unfair playing field. they should not be allowed on eB.com, if they dont have to follow the same rules.
i pulled out of the eB selling in china in 2009, cuz the manufacturer's own accounts were undercutting everyone and killing what pathetic little profit margin there was left. it just didnt make sense anymore. |
