Risk of selling on multiple eBay sites.??!

Hi guys, i am thinking of pushing my sales into other european countries such as ebay.de, ebay.fr etc...

Firstly it came to me that, if i listed on ebay.de with item location "spain" (where i currently am), would buyers even bother looking at the auction?, do i lie about the item location and put germany? then post express shipping from here? or do they check the IP against the item location?

anyone suggest anything? and also do eBay see it as a risk or flag me, for selling on a few different ebay sites? or should i have a seperate account for each site i use?

thanks a lot!, all opinions welcomed :D

I have done this before - buyers would look and might not bid due to your country being different but some might. Do you lie? That's up to you - I won't give business model tips. Folx will look and will still bid on whatever location you put.

You need to experiment more =)

For people to bid on your item located in a different country would depend on many factors such as shipping service and shipping price, if you offered competitive prices, they will definitely do. that would also depend on the account history and feedback.
I would not advice you to lie about item location though, but it is entirely up to you.

thanks a lot :), much appreciated, i will be experimenting...but im guessing eBay does not see this as a risk? if i list one item in the uk and another one in spain, another in france etcetc...

Naw eb does not see the listing as a risk - it's WHAT you list that counts more...you selling anything high risk/vero?

josh 01-17-2012 11:16 AM

no nothing vero, and nothign high risk, genuine 100% original, but high priced items, in a fairly unique market

rsot 01-17-2012 11:32 AM

Fairly unique eh?

josh 01-17-2012 11:40 AM

sorry i mean "quite a niched market", not too many competitors etc...

eBay.de which I deal with is strict on shipping when it comes to cases. The only con i see here is when you ship something you need that tracking, before I had my stealth accounts this would always be something that they could catch me on. Now I am smarter and know that I do not ship anything without that tracking # on it because they will open that case and you will have problems with proof and eventually start losing money. So before listing on .de make sure you study your shipping options. If you put item location being in Germany they will be expecting a shipping company to be DHL or Hermes which always has a tracking info and if you dont have that because you are shipping from Spain then there goes your feedback.
Another thing on Germans, they are very very very low on trust for other people and also if they see a listing not in German you most likely ain't gonna get many bids, I've been there :-)

Good luck

Good tips Daga.

My company sells more to germany than uk and we are uk based as we get a higher price for the same goods there as we do here. We sell 60,000 euros a month + there and very little problems we find that they are more forgiving than uk customers as they understand the ebay system more.
Tracking is great if you selling a few items, but we send it standard first class and get very little problems, also it probably depends where you are if you in africa im sure there will be less trust as for a uk seller.Africa is a nice place by the way lol.
