Is Ebay doing a sweep?
 

A lot of my listings are getting reported and temporary restrictions hit.

lost most of my accounts to this temp suspension that I have tested and most get removed again shortly after suspension is over.

I know, wait a few months before using it again, but wanted to get a feel if anyone is experiencing this right now, is it normal,


..or how to tell if this was possibly the doings of competitors...

I haven't had any listings taken down in like a year. Are you selling something counterfeit or prohibited? That's usually why they take down listings and suspend accounts. :(

Had one item removed a month ago. Does not look like a sweep, but like a random removal.

I haven't had any issues like this all year. Occasional, but nothing like this. this is major and crippling

Two likely options. The category is over run with new china sellers OR the rights owners of the items you sell joined the VERO program.

I just joined and took back a market for example. So if you happened to sell my brands(exceedingly unlikely) you would now have issues and would not have before.

They're much more strict during the holidays with name brand stuff

U just joined the vero list ? so you have ur own branded item that others were selling ?

I really think 99% of items that get Vero removal (or there removal reasons) are from other members selling those same items and reporting them to eBay. eBay does not have the resources to go though individual listings.an further on this eBay really does not care they just want sell items and collect fees all they want to do it provide a complaint process to cover their "asses" legally if there are any issues.

I don't think competitors can report you just like a Vero member. They have to sign a Vero take down notice and fax them to ebay from a valid number.

If ebay says Vero, it is most likely Vero.

Agreed.

If it was a vero agent, the email will say: your item has been reported by a verified rights owner blah blah blah. If they say vero then it was vero. Otherwise it will be like your item remove because it has proven to have issues then that was most likely ebay on their own. If it says something else, then it was most likely a gang of ppl complaining which usually comes down to 1 or 2 ppl using multiple accounts to mess with you.
