New account tied to old account. Father and I have same name and address. Start over?
 

So this is annoying.

Years ago, my eBay account was suspended.
Maybe this was because I was selling PC software?
OR as my Dad suggests, they thought we were shill bidding on items when we really weren't.
Every new account you create gets suspended.
This was years ago.

Now I've had an eBay account for about 2-3 years without problems.
I tried to list my first item for sale and I have 0 seller limits.
I called because I had no idea they linked accounts -- I thought they would have suspended the account.
That entire eBay account was created on a whole different Internet provider, with a different address, and not even a complete full name.
Before calling I did change the information to the correct thing.
The lady said it is suspended because of an account back in 2013.
I said okay...my Dad and I both have the same name so it is probably that reason.
She said "no, it says because that old account was suspended for dangerous activity."

That doesn't make sense because the last time I sold on eBay was 2009-2010.

So we have the same name and same address.

I am wondering how can I get rid of this problem?
I made a new account on a virtual computer on a different IP address, virtual address far away in a different state and a phone number I don't think I ever used.

It was working for a little while -- unlike my old account, it was telling me there were problems with my listing instead of just saying I have no selling limits.
Then in about 5 minutes, it said my selling limits ran out.
I applied for a business account and the same thing happened.

I DID use my name along with my SSN 4 digits to apply for a business account.
It said they were unable to approve it.

I'm just wondering how do I get out of this mess?

I want to sell legit items.
Items that are sitting around and collecting dust.
My Mom has an account with the same address (I believe) without problems.

I do have unlimited IP addresses, virtual machines, etc.
So that is a good thing.

I tried a virtual address and that didn't work.
I'd try my Grandmothers address - she passed away and now we are renting the house, but the guy that lives there has an eBay account lol.

I just can't start over and I'm really wanting to start fresh.

Unfortunately, I don't think eBay is like PayPal.
PayPal holds onto accounts for a few years and then gets rid of them.
I have always been banned from PayPal. I finally have a stable account in my name, address, phone number, and SSN.
I believe eBay retains information forever... and I'll always be linked unless I get a new SSN and legal name.
A new name and SSN sounds great lol.

So what is everyone else doing regarding this?

Hi you just need to be careful you must have done something by mistake and 2 accounts got linked it does not matter that this old one was suspended years ago is forever in the record
