eBay verifying addresses?

So, I had my account suspended for seven days, that is, pretty much forever, so I switched to another account that somehow got linked to an account I had and hadn't used in a while. Not sure how it happened. So, I opened a new one yesterday, not even opened to sell yet, and here is the message I received.

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to the violation of our site policy below:

* Invalid User Information - Our records show that there are discrepancies in the information that you registered with on our site. Accordingly, your account will be suspended indefinitely until valid information can be provided.

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way including registering a new account.

Please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your agreed-upon obligation to pay any fees you may owe to eBay.

Regards,

Safeharbor Department
eBay, Inc.

Does anyone know what this means?

Boilerplate language.
Hang around here long enough and you'll find that the only thing that anything EB says stands for is ambiguity.
They never really tell you what you did wrong, because that would help you to get around the system even long the next time.
So we all get together here and compare notes and try to figure things out.

Make sure you do plenty of reading and follow all of the steps.

My guess is you either got "associated" by cookies on your computer or IP or you tripped up and entered something into your profile that was the same for one of the "banned" ones.

I am now getting into the habit of saving all of my info given to ebay to an online email account (the one registered with ebay) so that if I am ever asked to verify it I will be able to. Plus by having it stashed in an online email acount I will never lose it due to a HD crash or losing the paper I wrote it on.

It could be your phone number or address. EBay seems to checking on this information more often now. Read the forums more to learn how to get around this.
