aol and ip address
 

Hello,
from reading through some of the other threads, it has been said you get a new ip address every time you log into aol. I keep getting the same ip address every time. When I check whatismyipaddress.com it says unknown/unable to confirm but when I look on ipburger.com it keeps giving me the same ip address. Has this happened to anyone else and why isnt it changing?

It's a proxy IP address. I think I need to add a feature to Ipburger.com that can tell you if it's proxy or not. Try IP Chicken - What is my IP? Find Your IP Address! , let me know what it says.

Interesting. That link shows that I'm using Mozilla. I read a tidbit a few days back that Mozilla was watched closely by ebay. Do you think that is true, and if so how would you hide that?

By the way, if you bought any IP hiding programs on ebay, do you think that could be a cause for suspension? The prices would be above .99 I'm just concerned that the subject matter might raise flags. Of course, there's very good reasons for hiding your IP even outside ebay. They just might not see it that way. What do you think Aspkin?

the link u gave me gives me a totally different IP. Same one when I log out and back in too. How do I know what IP address ebay is seeing? I have seen 3 different ones from 3 different sources....that all stay the same when I log out and log back in.

Are you by any chance using firefox and aol? I find that when I look in firefox for my ip and then look in the main aol browser window for my ip, there is a difference. Of course this changes about every hour or so anyway with aol.

no, I have firefox but Im not using it. I was trying to just go through aol so I could have a different ip than I normally do on my computer, but it keeps showing the same ip no matter what. Your aol ip changes about every hour without logging out? Mine keeps staying the same no matter what I do.

Are you on broadband/dsl/cable/router?

yea Im on cable on my laptop so its through a router..but Im getting the same ip no matter what, even when I go to work and use another broadband connection.
