New PayPal account?
 

Should we not just create a new PayPal account and start fresh with taht too? The guide says to add the new email address in but I would have thought that it'd be too easy for them to link the two if it's the same PayPal account.

Also, what should I do for my telephone number field? Make it up? How likely are they to phone me?

That's the problem. They will phone you as soon as u get over $400 dollars. And they do an address check, SSN check, and all of that so there is really no way you can still use Paypal for the longterm under a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ identity.
