Will my defect rate be wiped off
 

I hear people say they will let the ebay account cool off for some time.
What do they mean by cool off ??

It depends on your sales volume. High volume accounts are evaluated based on 3 month history, low volume accounts are evaluated based on 12 month history. You can find out which you are in your seller dashboard.

and by 12 months, it means from the date you are below standard. Keep in mind that 12 months of no selling history, you start from the begging with funds held etc... You are better off selling while you are below standard. Also, sometimes if you are below standard several evaluations in a row, they remove your selling privileges.

You had a bunch of other threads, what exactly is the reason you're below standard?

I canceled about 12 transactions in 2016 and selected the out of stock option, I've never recuperated from it

Are you dropshipping? Are you considering changing your methods?
What is going on here?
Just to let you know this... the defects drop off. Your dashboard looks OK. But eBay can still decide to punish you again without any apparent reason.

Your defects will drop off a year after they were left.

Whether or not the account will recover is harder to say. I've had accounts that were fine later, and some that seem to have been given the permanent 'thumbs down' and never bounced back.

Probably should start another account for safety sake, but keep checking in on this one and try it again after the defects fall off.
