Advice Needed on Additional Ebay Phone Verification
 

Hey guys. So bought a stealth account a little over a month ago and let it season for a month logging in and bidding on items before I decided to list. A day ago I listed an item and within an hour I got it removed and a message to call in for a phone verification and that they will reinstate my selling privileges. What I listed was a 10.00 makeup kit that my wife had laying around. Nothing expensive or name brand and used my own photos. Has anyone had experience with this and how do it work out for you?

Almost all my accounts got "suspended" when I listed new stuff regardless of what it was. Each time I just called them, answered their questions and started selling again. Just act normal and seem like you're "you" and all will go fine.

Do not list makeup for your first item, makeup is considered high risk.

But what if they ask about personal details such as mortgage companies and cars I've owned??? Keep in mind my account is stealth so wouldn't know that info.

Makeup and health/beauty products are definitely high risk. Speak to the person who sold you the account for guidance.

I did. He said call them and they might ask my selling habits and stuff like that but if they ask for personal info make an excuse to get off the phone and try calling again another time.

The only time I was asked "personal" type questions was when I requested limit increase on a week old 5/500 stealth account. They asked people I was associated with to which I said nope never heard of them both times they asked. To get unsuspended they asked phone number, email address, types of items, why, and if I had other accounts. All questions you should be able to answer.

I agree with all the above advice.

So next time, keep in mind that anything that's electronic , pharmaceutical / health related are usually high risk.

Good thinking to begin though. So keep it up.

PS: I see that you have the ebay stealth, I also suggest that you start making a few back up accounts right now so you can start using them soon, just in case something happens to one of your accounts.

I appreciate your advice and and to conclude, a 3 minute convo with ebay about my future plans and all that and the verification was done.
