If I take new pictures but use the same camera, will eBay somehow link me?

new pictures of what? is it the same ip and username being used to store the pictures?

Run the pictures through batchpurifier before uploading to ebay. That way it will never matter which camera you use.

Ok, so I run the old pictures I have through batchpurifier, should I run new pics that i am currently taking through there too? Just not sure if the metadata exposes my camera and can uniquely identify it.

I am using a 10 year old digital camera, not a phone or tablet or anything like that if that makes a difference

Another easy way is just change something about the photo with an app and it'll change the properties too.

Exif data can also be stripped.

So instead of starting another thread I'll ask here if that's ok.

I scan my items from the same scanner but on the proper windows account. How nervous should I be if I didnt run a few pics thru batch purifier?

I wouldn't be worried if its just happened a few times.

I run every picture through batchpurifier, even if it doesn't need it. It's good to get in to good habits.

I must be doing something wrong. I am trying to run a batch of photos through batchpurifier but I keep getting an error message about an unexpected format. They are just regular jpg files taken with an older digital camera. Anybody ever get this error message before?

^^No I've never seen an error. But the free version says (Free Edition - JPEG Only) in the title bar. Try changing the extension of your photos from .jpg to .jpeg and then run them through.

I never quite understood why people go through all this?

Personally I would just get another used camera on eBay for $30-$100 and do that. And if by chance you do lose the account for some reason, just list and re-sell the camera.

Think of it as a rental camera. :)

To each their own.

It takes all of 5 seconds to run 100 photos through batch purifier, and batch purifier is free. No rental equipment required. It's not much to go through and it doesn't cost anything - that's why I go through it. :D
