am i flogging a dead horse

hi to everyone
e bay has restricted my account, ongoing for last 3 weeks, requested driver licence, invoices, receipts, utility bill, sent them all to e bay, now looking for proof of business, rang them to explain this and they did not know what it was, sent them a long e mail as to what they are looking for, waiting on reply, lots of car part dealers around midland area have same restriction, this account no problems for last 5 yrs. think i might be flogging a dead horse here and they just keep wanting more very personal information, latest request is my bank statement:croc: any thoughts would be appreciated..

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

There is no harm in you carrying on trying but I would also get another account going in the background just incase they don't unlimit the account

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

hi yes i am going to keep going see if it gets me any where as i am not suspended, i am restricted, although it seems to mean the same to e bay, spoke to an operator from their head office in dublin, advice was to send a very long email to them and pretend you are communicating with a 2 year old. i am not holding my breath for this account, have another long time account, but would like to see where e bay take this.

For 30 mins of your time its worth it!

Just remember to phone them to chase it up again in a few days and then again a few days after that

eBay just say what they have to say to get you off the phone a lot of the time

If a few weeks has passed and still nothing happens then your best bet it so move on an then try with that account again in 6 months time

I'd read the stealth guide (if you haven't already) and get a few other accounts going...

As for this, if its worth it, keep on persisting. If you've done nothing wrong, they should eventually unlimit you.

None of them really know what they are talking about!

Sometimes they will just keep asking for more and more from you with no intention of ever actually unlimiting your account

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

hi thanks
that is exactly what i think will will happen if i am honest, but it is more an experiment for my self to see what other nonsense they asking for, have a stealth which is good, might do a business website myself to sell on and try and spread around the sales platforms.

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

I would even look at getting 2/3 eBay accounts if I was you just to spread the risk even further

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

HOnestly, I'd spend most of my time studying the ebay stealth so you can get back selling asap.

Then spend a little time to see if you can recover the account.

Keep going until you know the account is 100% gone. Good accounts are worth trying for!

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

Yea, I'm sorry to hear that.

But the bright side is you can either make new stealth accounts using the ebay stealth or buy some premade ones in our market place .

hi
just an update ,spoke to e bay this morning and the result is the account not just restricted but indefinitely restrictedly now ,am going to ring again and plead my case one last time as it a good account and i have done nothing wrong. some one suggested leaving the account for 6 months and try again, so that is my plan, have 2 stealth now, and going to do a business web site.

SaiJin 08-29-2018 10:54 PM

Re: am i flogging a dead horse

I suggest having at least 5 accounts.

And yes, try again in 6 mo or so. There was a case where accounts just came back from suspension out of the blue without you doing anything.

eBay = moody

Good try - smart choice to try again with another agent, please professionally and hope for the best.

Listen to Saijin's advice for multiple backup accounts.
