what actually causes the MC011?

what do you all think causes it?

do you think its buyers reporting your listing, or calling ebay on you?
or maybe getting a couple returns for items appearing to be counterfeit?

maybe any returns eventually lead to it?

what are your experienced thoughts

Selling on ebay causes it. To avoid it, dont sell anything on a new ebay acct.

MC011 is a type of Trust & Safety restriction.

This usually means you have an issue with the item(s) you are selling, or there have been complaints about your selling practices. Those are the top two triggers, but it can also be other metrics such as excessive return rates, cases, and the like.

MC011's are very hard to pass, as that means the US Risk Management Dept. in Draper, UT has control over the account. The front line reps or other departments cannot lift this type of restictions, only the T&S people can.

They will always ask for invoices/bills of sale, but usually even if they are legit, they will place a bit of scrutiny on the account which makes it doubtful the initial suspention will be lifted. You have nothing to lose but to try, though.

What causes it? You would have better luck landing on Pluto before you could figure out exactly what causes MC011, But If I had to guess....about 5000 different things causes it.

I think they just have a dart board. When they don’t like you anymore, they throw a dart and that’s the reason you get banned

https://imgur.com/a/Wow9gVLI've been getting MC011s left and right the last 6 months and i can tell with certainty that this was not the case in previous years. It seems like eBay is taking a tougher stand towards suspicious activity, it seems.

This is the message i received when i got a reply back from their department (which doesn't happen very often, usually they just ignore me)https://imgur.com/a/Wow9gVL

Also, from my experience, shipping delays very often can trigger the dreaded MC011.

Just today I received a MC011 in one account. They do not mention the reason but the say "in order to appeal you have to close any pending cases you have with your customers". I just have two in total and these are the only ones I ever had. 2 cases in 110 orders... so i dont have a big rate...

I've had accounts MC011ed with perfect feedback, zero cases opened out of all 50 orders and then i had accounts running during the same period with below average performance, negative feedback, lots of returns, etc.. keep running like nothing happened. Don't know who's in charge of that ebay department, but not much really makes sense and i suspect those MC011s are randomly thrown at sellers' accounts just to satisfy the quota and to show to the stakeholders that look we're doing a great job eradicating fraud.
