Patrick Sutton

I got an email today from Patrick Sutton, acquisition mgr for ebay, stating they wanted me back. Does anyone know what is up with that? This is my original ebay that I got banned 4 years ago for selling NFL Flags (which by the way I bought on ebay lol)

Re: Patrick Sutton

I've heard of some sellers getting these on past suspended accounts.

What was the original suspention? Was it a MC011 restriction?

Re: Patrick Sutton

You got a 50/50 chance.....give them money and see what happens.

Re: Patrick Sutton

I was suspended for selling NFL Flags that I bought on Ebay, Bought two for my favorite teams and the quality was excellent so I contacted the overseas supplier and started selling.

Re: Patrick Sutton

Well I have a phone interview with him at 11am today, will update everyone.

Re: Patrick Sutton

If I were you I'd ask him out for coffee and see what he says. Let's see how much he really wants you back.

Kajunrook 02-14-2019 05:04 PM

Re: Patrick Sutton

Well it is a VERY professional scam, I had an 11am cc set up for this morning and he never called so I thought maybe I did something wrong and so I logged back onto the email and set another for 3:45 CST today. Another no call, so the guy has my phone number, don't know what he can do with that. Will have to stick to my 5 stealth accounts.

Kajunrook 02-19-2019 07:07 PM

Re: Patrick Sutton

So I get another email from this guy saying "if you have been restricted" I can help you get that removed? So what is his scam, he is not asking for any personal info or having me download anything? What the heck.

Re: Patrick Sutton

The email address, genuine eBay domain?

does it says "@ebay.com"

Is your email provider marking this as a genuine email from that domain, i.e. not being spoofed?

If so, it would be genuinely from ebay.

Seems like you're wasting time and energy on this

Re: Patrick Sutton

After getting banned yesterday on my 16 year old account customer services told me they periodically review suspended accounts and if they want you back they will email you. That's not to say you shouldn't give it a try after a year anyway.

Re: Patrick Sutton

I do not know if the emails you are getting are actually from him, but I will say the he DID replace the guy that I reached out to to get my original account re-instated.

Do you owe fees?

Is the original paypal still good?

Re: Patrick Sutton

I had an email a few months back on a 2016 LLC account I closed. He offered to remove all defects, wipe out a 6K balance if I expected similar sales volume and offer the same service.

Whoever runs that department has terrible response time. It may or may not be a waste of your time BUT if they want you back, just make a new real account....

I did not but when I was able to reopen that account to get my $365 credit they owned me, they blocked the account and made me open a new one LOL Yea...they stole my $365 :mad2: I buy on the new/old acccount the same as I did the old account but I lost my 25,000 feedback. I will never sell on it.

Yeah, I've been getting this email too, over and over again, assumed it was a scam, interested to hear if it pans out.

Account was fine but the PP was fried.

Re: Patrick Sutton

old accounts sometimes even get reinstated without you knowing.

eBay is needing more sellers to come back

Kajunrook 03-02-2019 07:43 AM

Re: Patrick Sutton

Nope this guy has now sent me three emails but does not call at the appointed time nor responds to emails.

phaz0rz 03-02-2019 07:52 AM

Re: Patrick Sutton

Maybe he's just super busy. This doesn't make sense as a scam or as a legit eBay email. Ask him to call you, maybe..

All the emails had been long onto his calendar and put in the time for him to call my cell phone, neither time did he call.

SaiJin 03-02-2019 07:44 PM

Re: Patrick Sutton

well, try again.

Usually thought they just reinstate the account without you even knowing.

Kajunrook 03-02-2019 10:18 PM

Re: Patrick Sutton

Nope I logged on and it is still limited, it was my original in my real name. So would be ool to get it back even though I lost the paypal, if it got reinstated I would call paypal and tell them I was unlimited and see what they say

ernest2449 03-03-2019 04:27 AM

Re: Patrick Sutton

I can tell you it is NOT a scam. Got same email from Patrick about 2 weeks ago, I scheduled a time on his calendar and he called right on time. We had a 15min convo and he let me know I stand a good chance of getting acct reinstated. Hasn't fully happened yet, as there are a few steps in the process. But I can post back on here to update. So OP I would stay persistent

Message him on linkedin asking why he keeps standing you up.

Re: Patrick Sutton

That's weird, OP. He called me right on time the first time, and even followed up later via email. And to boot - apparently there are 2 ppl at eBay who do this, and the other person also emailed me to set up a time to call. Since the process isn't completed with Patrick, figured I might as well talk w the other guy also. Guess they don't cross reference. And they probably see how high my sales were and miss that 10%. Anyway, we're scheduled for Thurs morning. I'll update on here about what happens w either.

And for anyone wondering - if you get these emails, they are legit. I wasn't quick to respond to or take them serious initially. I definitely did some digging and confirmed they are legit. Coming from real EB email Addy's.
