Ebay Restricted Account

I have an ebay account with my sister in law. It was recently restricted with a 99.7 feedback due to seller non-performance.
At that time they gave me one figure on the ebay fees owed, now it is $1350 higher and they cannot explain what the additional charges are for.
I have downloaded my invoices so I can go through all the many pages to try and figure it out myself since I spent 3 hours on live chat this morning! I signed in to live chat at and was told I needed someone else to help me, so they transferred me 9 times. NO ONE could explain what the additional amount was for.
What should I do in regards to this account and fees since I do not want my sister in laws credit messed up?
I have the address for ebay collections and thought I would write them and include all the e-mails with the one figure referenced by an e-mail rep and then the 3 different bills received since June and ask them to prove what I owe.

Why don't you try and call ebay?

tiredofebay123 08-21-2009 01:32 PM

I did, they cannot explain the additional charges either, they just round and round.

At this point do not write to them: I'll find a letter that you can send that should help.
Hold off for a bit

hmmm.... thats weird lol.... hey franky look at this guy over here lets put an extra 1300 dollar balance....annoys me off how some 10 dollar an hour has so much privileges to terminate accounts, ebay is lucky they dont have headquarters near me... i would have worked there and hack there system.. and give advice here all day anonymously

tiredofebay123 08-26-2009 03:29 PM

Greenbean, thanks for the reply, what letter would you send?

Vicvelcro 08-26-2009 03:40 PM

I would not initiate contact with the credit department. I would attempt all other means to resolve the issue ASIDE from credit dept. Would wait for THAT dept to contact me. No sense in tipping them off and burning other bridges of resolution potential.

Are you perhaps linked to a previous suspended account wherein you stiffed them for fees? Maybe they are carrying the balance forward. Would be illegal (not hard to believe), so you have a defense from that perspective.

Unless you are deceiving us, the whole thing stinks. I'd be on the phone to T&S accusing other departments of everything short of eating my young.

Interesting and expected, ebay suspended my restricted account 1 hour after disputing the amount owed with ebay live chat last week.
I definetly think a letter of dispute would be good to send them. The 9 session ID's I have proves even they do not know the amount owed, as well as the 4 different bills received in one month!

tiredofebay123 08-27-2009 03:22 PM

vicvelcro, there is no reason for me to deceive you or anyone. They have not linked a previous account, and the balance has gone form $2100.00, 2595.00, $3553.00 to $3068.00 in one months time.

Vicvelcro 08-29-2009 03:21 AM

^^^^^^
Please don't get the impression I was accusing you. I was only considering the possibility that information was altered slightly or withheld from us for privacy reasons. It isn't uncommon around here. Some users seem to think we are the 'five-oh' so they give false info and expect us to give correct answers.

No offense was intended.

Back to your issue: You may be unaware that an account or accounts have been linked. They can link and keep it quiet - you would never know. If they think they can recover fees by keeping you around, they will keep you around until they have what they want, then the axe drops.

My question is: Have you ever stiffed ebay for fees? If so, that could be why your balance owed keeps changing. The more accounts they quietly link, the more fees they will attempt to recover. Since the balance is steadily increasing and not just jumping around up and down randomly, I am guessing that they are tatting up fees from other ditched accounts and linking in the manner I suggest. Logic is my co-pilot.

If you want some advice but don't want to post openly, I do read my PMs. Ask around, it's true.

change your regisration information, and let your account be suspended. It wont go to collection under your name
