Seller account suspended do to chargeback

I'm heated, I've been on eBay since 2002. I sold a stick a memory, the buyer opened up a case to return it. eBay made me pay the shipping back and the dude shipped it back damaged. I complained to eBay and they gave me a $5 coupon, which didn't cover nearly any of my expenses. I was like whatever, I'll file a partial dispute on my credit card, as other fees charged to me by them were legit. My card said they resolved it in my favor as eBay never responded to their inquiry. I then get some narco email from eBay saying I need to pay them the money I disputed, to get my seller account back activated. I called them, they didn't care about anything but the money owed from the charge back. This doesn't seem fair?

Standard procedure for when you chargeback eBay. Their terms of service say you have to let eBay resolve disputes. You circumvented/violated their terms of service by going through your credit card provider. Did you think this was something eBay was going to want or accept a 2nd opinion for?

I didn't circumvent anything. They didn't care the item was returned damaged. Why do I need to take the hit? How is that good business sense? I honestly didn't think this conglomerate would be so petty. They are mad cause "I removed automatic payments" Please, that's how the account was from inception circa 2002. They could of at least responded to the VISA inquiry. "We will deal with you directly" like some mafioso rhetoric. 19 years with an account and now for twenty bucks they terminate! Reading all this "stealth" stuff seems unrelated to a situation like mine. It appears I make a new account to sell, or pay these tards. ::aggravated:: I can still use my account to buy, very interesting. I hardly sell anyways, moon bats.

Re: Seller account suspended do to chargeback

when a buyer returns an item not in the same condition, third party like Ebay has no way to tell who is telling the truth,it is a he said/she said situation,so Ebay gave you $5.
report this buyer so it would be on her record.
if you or ebay denied the refund, your buyer could go to her cc issuer and file a chargeback and you will be fine $20 chargeback fee if you lose.
You know the saying -dont sell anything you cant afford to lose on Ebay

Re: Seller account suspended do to chargeback

I am surprised this is the first time since 2002 you have run into such problem.
Other sellers have taken it on the chin, sold a pocket watch for $24k and get an empty box back, sold a guitar and buyer removed the part he needed ,return a box of rocks instead of A/C, a pair of smelly sneakers, etc etc

Think about it: is this one item worth your ebay business? Block the buyer and move on

Sound advice. People are crumbs. I guess I have been lucky.

Re: Seller account suspended do to chargeback

The Florida shop which sold a $24,000 watch and paid to have it returned, noticed the weight is different,so it called the police and open it in front of him,it was empty so they filed a police report.
then they called Ebay, ebay told them to refund in 3 days, and take up the case with Fed Exp.
Unfortunately they did not take out any insurance for the return.
The shop has been in business for 60 years and been selling on Ebay for 3 years.
Ebay sucks !

be happy that you have an easy fix for your account, many stealthers would love to have their original account back for $20

We have an idiom here that goes 'Penny wise...'

And no, the idiom wasn't referring to this guy:

well, you could have also gone with " a pound foolish" lol but that actually might be offensive. Or penny wise and a dollar stupid.

It's funny, I've always remembered it as Penny wise and a dollar short. And my comment to you was supposed to be a joke, because you guys use pound instead of dollar. But now that I google it, pound short seems to be the default...

now that I think about it, lol I'm kinda insulted too! I make too many penny decisions while ignoring the dollar ones.

So I was able to get another account opened and link my same paypal to it. I'm not paying for my old account IDC. Pennies lead to dollars and eBay is retarded. I already made a sale & its going into the same paypal account of the suspended account.

...and your new opened account will go down sooner or later. PayPal account may follow the same route... prepare to wait 180 days.

You've linked a paypal of a suspended account to a brand new one... obviously it is the same owner... eBay is not that retarded.

Re: Seller account suspended do to chargeback

Maybe, reading stuff here I assumed it would instantaneously be rejected. Not only was there zero issues linking it, the suspended account keeps receiving "MC999 EBI NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension: NonPayment"

Meanwhile I'll be transferring the sale $ to the same paypal. I may have found a loophole. They can term my PayPal for a charge back? I'll update here as to what transpires.

using the same Paypal account to another Ebay account is fine, not a problem.
But if ebay can link your two Ebay accounts,it will take the money from your second Ebay account or WORSE,suspend that account !!!!
