Buying account suspended, no longer a registered user.
 

Help and advice please, I have had my buying account suspended, currently showing as no longer a registered user.

The account has only been used for buying, I spend thousands every month buying used games, computer parts... I don't return many items, only if they are faulty, or open a non received item, unless something does not arrive.

I currently cannot contact ebay through their website (ebay.co.uk)

I have tried to call them, but due to covid 19 issues their phone lines for customer services is just a recorded message, explaining there customer service number is currently not in use....

The account did have the option to sell with, but I have not sold on the account fir maybe two years.

I received the message as detailed below.

Your eBay account was suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay Community.

You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

chat support is available on ebay.co.uk, they are available from 8:00 am to 9:00pm.

I contacted them yesterday, as i need to request for a selling limit increase.

Hi Lans, thank you for your reply, only issue is that due to the account been suspended and me no longer been a registered user, the option to chat to them via webchat is totally missing, if I am not logged into my account I can see the option detailing the contact times and options.

But when logged they are totally not there.

I guess that is where a phone call option is best used,i shall check again at 8am though.

Okay, the option to chat via web chat appeared at 8am this morning, I contacted eBay, they refused to turn my buying account back on, so I am now suspended.

I do have various other accounts, including selling accounts, so now I am very worried they will be linked etc.

Didnt they give you any clue why an account you only used for buying was banned?.

Its suspended due to opening cases item not received or not as described, abusing return system etc, only you know why its suspended

Also, multiple reports by different sellers would cause this type of suspension usually.

If eBay says there are serious security concerns that can only be for your protection. I would contact my credit card company immediately and tell them eBay said that your account was restricted due to "serious security concerns" and can't exactly remember what you purchased (since you purchase so many items) and eBay has restricted your account so you can't see so to be on the safe side DISPUTE ALL OF THE CHARGES FOR THE LAST 180 DAYS

When your credit card company ask for proof you can show them the email saying your account is restricted due to SERIOUS SECURITY CONCERNS. That is as valid a reason as any.

Buyers will be made whole if they can provide tracking numbers. Let eBay/Paypal give you all of your money back.

Remember. This is for YOUR protection. There are serious security concerns.

The thing is though I only purchase via funds that are sat in my PayPal account, I do not use my credit card for purchases.

I tend to have a lump sum in my buying account.

Just make up a new account then. Paypal/eBay doesn't care what name you put. They only care about protecting themselves.

But won't they pick up on things, I have two other buying accounts and various
Selling accounts, I'm guessing on a domino effect on my accounts..

My selling accounts still have stuff listed on them, some items where dispatched on Saturday and have not yet reach their buyers.

Some items still to send tomorrow.

Worse case is that they cut my seller accounts and refund buyers, even though items are in transit or maybe even those that have been delivered.

I have just had the same on one of my accounts?

Did the other accounts get taken down in the end?

Weird. I buy a shiit ton from ebay every month... 10s of 1000s of dollars, and return quite a bit of stuff for defective or whatever. Never any problems.

Maybe you return a significantly higher % than me? No clue...

I would just make a half-ass stealth account and get back to buying. They are seldom as picky about people who don't sell.

It's Very rare to get a buying account banned .

Use a different delivery address ,
