A lot of returns

Hi, i was wondering what the most most amount of returns anyone has had open at one time.

I understand that we can get an MC011 if we have a few returns open, but whats the most anyone has had open at once?

I ask as i have 4 open right now for customers who have all changed their mind for small reasons. Will i get banned for this?

One of my accounts is at ~5% return rate. I don't think you'll get banned but we've gotten a lot lately too. All "Changed Mind" or things not our fault. The ordered green, I sent green. They returned because they don't like green. Things like that.

4 is not a lot.

It depends on the volume of sales. If your selling 2,000 items per month then 4-5 is nothing. But if you only sell 20 items per month then you have a problem.

Re: A lot of returns

if OP keeps getting 4 returns out of 20 every month, then he is in trouble with Ebay.
Ebay is fleamarket, many used, worn, not as described items ,so returns is a way of life !

I always say its a library. Amazon too. I sell electronics and they'll send them back all beat up or in multiple pieces. Reason for return? No longer wanted/needed.

Its 4 out of 200 in fairness, and yes all petty reasons such as 'changed mind'

I never really looked at the accounting on this but we pay for their return shipping labels too right? I hate having to have the extended returns for TRS.

All depends on how much you sell . I have had loads of cases open at once because people don’t read the descriptions properly or at all . I have had people look at the picture and not read the description. Then open cases without contacting me witch makes the account look bad then I have to pay for the return and half of them don’t even both returning it but that leave the eBay case open which when you selling 1000s of items it can add up

That is why I sell "feedback fodder" items too. To boost your transaction count. Buyers can be a pain with returns. They'll buy a black shirt and return it not as described they wanted blue.

That's true - to boost the proportion...crazy and scammy buyers are so frequent so a good idea to boost stats with other sales

Yeah I lose a little money on each one but it gives me more flexibility when claims and such come in.

Re: A lot of returns

the thing with bad ebay buyers is to let them hear what they want. also, if they leave bad feedback i usually kindly ask them they need to remove the feedback and i help. also, using and even mentioning on messaging about a buyer that is going to give you bad feedback if he/she doesn't get what he wants then that's against ebay policy and their feedback gets removed right away. it's true. as long as you know the policy and how to use it to your advantage all those open returns or claims can be easily handled with good feedback or no feedback at all.
