I am a noob to this forum, and new to all of this. I was recently suspended on Ebay.
For now, not selling on Ebay isn't the end of the world for me. I can still sell elsewhere online, but my main concern is continuing to buy from Ebay.
What I sell isn't an issue if it's sold on Mercari, etc. But it's more concerning that I am able to continue to buy from Ebay. Most importantly auctions and being able to make offers. It is how I get good deals on my inventory, and maximize my profit when I sell later on once the values of the merchandise has gone up. And some of these inventory items are more easily found on Ebay, and are able to be sold anywhere else on the internet. The opposite is true. Some of the things I buy are harder to find on sites like Mercari or Etsy, but if I have those items myself, selling them on Mercari/Etsy/etc is no problem.
As a guest account, I can't bid or make offers. And this is where the suspension affects me the most.
After looking through this site a bit, everything to do with stealthing is seemingly for selling/if you want to continue to sell on EBay. I tried searching for my specific question, but I couldn't find any discussion on this forum. Maybe I just didn't know how to search it.
What if I just want to continue to be a buyer/customer on Ebay? Will it be the exact same steps as what is in the stealth book? Selling is one thing, seems more complicated to set up to avoid Ebay's dectection, but is it the same hoop-jumping just to be able to bid on auctions and make offers to sellers who have that option? Is it as complicated to set up? Should I buy the stealth book? Will it provide info on just how set up a new account to simply buy things? Cause I don't care to sell at all on Ebay for now, but I need to be able to buy. Being locked out of auctions potentially locks me out of potentially obtaining certain items for my inventory, which is damning.
Sorry if this is already answered somewhere, I couldn't find it. |

Ebay doesn't link buyer accounts to old suspended accounts? If so, what if when I try to checkout and pay for the item? Wouldn't that trigger Ebay? |

I was just trying to say that eBay does not care at all about buyer accounts. They only care about protecting themselves. I see idiots who just registered today bidding on 20 items all the time. Just register with whatever information you want and then put correct shipping information at checkout.
eBay cares about seller accounts because someone could sell items, ship with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ tracking numbers, etc.. and cause all kinds of problems that eBay will have to pay for.

eBay does not care about the information on buyer accounts. | What about when I'm also trying to pay for the item? Does any payment information I give not allow them to link my accounts together?
Or did you mean by ""eBay does not care about the information on buyer accounts.".. that even paying for something at checkout isn't something they would care about, that it isn't risky information, since I would just be buying? |
| agent006140 | 10-31-2020 05:30 PM | Re: Suspended, but just want to continue as a buyer in the foreseeable future? An Ebayer can be banned from buying but he can still sell,or he can be banned from selling but he can buy,his account is still active.
if your account is banned, then yo can neither buy or sell,it does not want you no more ! |
| bentorange | 11-03-2020 02:29 PM | Re: Suspended, but just want to continue as a buyer in the foreseeable future? I would use the same credit card to buy things, but if Ebay doesn't care about buyer's information, what if this is the same credit card tied to the same paypal that's linked to my suspended account?
Would they link any new accounts with my suspended account because of this? |
| cafonabob1 | 11-06-2020 04:53 PM | Re: Suspended, but just want to continue as a buyer in the foreseeable future? You can register an account with the name Mickey Mouse. Then at checkout use your real name, address and credit card. I have done it literally 10,000s of times.
eBay simply does not care about fraudulent buyers. From the same ip address someone could make up 100 different accounts and be a deadbeat bidder on 1000 auctions and eBay most likely won't suspend any of them. Then list a 99c item and it gets restricted immediately. They do not care. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:05 PM. | |
