New Business Account Suspended Personal Is Not!
 

Something weird happened yesterday... I opened new business account, listed one item and got permanently suspended an hour later. Turned out it happens a lot. The weird part is that my personal 10-year old account survived! I use it for both buying (over 9 years) and selling (for the past few months) and it's up and running, today I've sent and received offers, purchased shipping labels.

I believe this means that my old and new accounts were not linked? I analyzed data on eBay and PayPal accounts and think figured out why. I opened PP and EB accounts at the same time in 2011. Then few years later I opened another PP account and linked it to EB. All info on EB account is up to date and has been verified at the time I switched to EB managed payments. PP account is a different story. It is still in my maiden name and has NO SSN simply because didn't have it back then since I'm from another country and was not living in the US. Emails on PP & EB are also different.

Now, info on my suspended account matches my current one: SSN, phone number, address, same last name. What was different is bank account and of course email. Now, and I think this is the most important thing that might’ve been both the reason for permanent suspension and my saving grace, I for some reason got spaced out and didn't create new PP account, i.e. suspended EB account is NOT associated with ANY PP account.

And although now I'm fully prepared to go stealth I started thinking, maybe I’ll just upgrade my existing EB personal account to a business one, it’ll be so much easier! Or once I start going through the process and updating my details my personal account will link to the suspended one and also get banned? I don’t want to lose it, it has few dozen reviews and 100% positive feedback.

Different email account will not matter, and likely for bank account as well. It might not be today, but the other account is likely to get suspended unless you can clear the suspension. That was my experience. Ebay suspended me completely last Friday.

Best to find a way through and clear suspension if possible. Near impossible to contact anyone to help. Most CS Reps lie. I asked through soc med as well and suspect no one checked anything just copy and past canned response.

eBay gods have had a mercy on me, my suspension was lifted!!! Without me doing anything! Logged in yesterday, saw screen with the suspension notice and just closed the window. Decided to delete a new gmail associated with this acct today and saw an email from EB with 'Everyone deserves a second chance' in the subject. Logged onto EB, suspension screen was still there, but this time I clicked on 'continue' and...volia... there it was, my sparkling new business account! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

Nice news - just build the account with nice sales history - hope the account reinstatement holds :)
