Sticky situation

Right lads, ive ****ed up a little.

A month ago, i had a tonne of orders, and i fulfilled all of them except 1, which i totally forgot about for some reason.

Now, before i could just send a refund and apologize, the buyer opened a dispute with their bank.

If i send the refund, i will get a bad mark on my account for sure.

Is there anyway of sending the buyer a refund without getting a dispute % increase?

Nop. Refund him and move on. You've messed up, that's the price.

Listen to muzzie on this OP - refund and move on; avoiding repeating

Re: Sticky situation

one order should not make any difference, you see some sellers with 5 figures feedback and 4 figures negative.
buyer opened a case and you offered a refund, they did not respond, thats not your fault.
ebay only get involved if one of you ask it to do so,or if you do not respond, but you did

Re: Sticky situation

Is it all via MP?
MP must have sent you an email to tell you a chargeback has been filed?did it give you instruction of what to do?

UPDATE; It appears that i did send the item out, but the tracking hasn't shown it as being delivered yet! I assume the postal system has lost it.

Yes, a charge back was filed, and i inputted the tracking number (which still shows as the order being in transit after 1 month).

I am hoping the bank side with me since its been sent and i dont want a defect. If they do, thats great, and i'll just refund the buyer outside of ebay lol

It needs to show delivered for the bank to side with you.

I could have sworn if you just refund the dispute you wouldn't get a defect.
A defect gets put on when eBay has to jump in (buyer escalates)

Correct me if I'm wrong, someone

Outside of ebay? That doesn't feel like it would help

you wont get a defect, as long as ebay is not involved.
you get a defect if you dispute the dispute and loose. If you just agree to refund nothing will happen.

However you can send him the order very quick and attatch the tracking to actualy win the dispute. but at the time you submit it the order has to be already delivered

I think the only way to avoid a defect is if buyer closes case himself, or ebay closes case in sellers favor. Everything else is still a defect.

if you do not dispute then you get no defect
