Furious. eBay lied to me and now saying i wont be paid
 

I was selling on eBay, and it got suspended indefinitely so I contacted asking why and they said it was because I created the account when I was under 18 even though I didn't start selling until I was 18. They also said it was for other reasons which they cannot discuss with me. I asked if I would get my funds and they said I would in the next 30-60 days.

A month and a bit later I contact them today to confirm I will get the money, and they said due to ebays laws they will keep the money and said something about contacting some Luxembourg address, like how the hell am I supposed to contact an address. Ebay are a bunch of liars and scammers. -£1,500 from a LEGIT business that was all above board and no stealth account. Thieves.

"I've checked your account and after further review of your account, we've determined that the face you sold items when you were under 18 means any funds not already paid out will be retained by eBay as required by law.

I don't know what to believe, this company is a bunch of scumbags. Why do they keep telling me different things, why are young entrepreneurs being punished. Terrible really is.

Around christmas and new years is the worst time to do anything that's considered risky to ebay as the bots will just shut you down and the ebay reps will just repeat copy and paste answers.

Unfortunately you were cannon fodder in their pursuit of stopping scammers that riddle ebay at this time of the year.

You should definitely get your money back after 60 days if everything is above board and you were using your real details.

Sadly all you can do at the moment is to wait 60 days and hope money is released - if not, then further actions to be tried...

Are you sure I will get my money? Because they are saying subject to ebays laws they will keep the money

As you were told on your other thread on this matter, you will just have to sit it out and see what happens after their maximum withhold period expires.

There is no doubt that the account was created before you were legally eligible to enter into a contract with ebay and their argument will be that as it's an invalid account any subsequent sales are invalid too. I assume an under 18 DOB would prevent account creation so did you lie to them in some way when creating the account?

Again I offer you my good luck but sadly IMO you will not get your monies released.
