Change legal name to open eBay account after suspension
 

Anyone tried changing your legal name?
Then open new bank account and sort out new address.
Btw eBay uk is where I was suspended
Will this work?
It’s not that expensive and I would be willing to go through with it.

LOL, yes it would work I guess. Not the first time it's been discussed here.

Don't forget to get a new Passport, Driving Licence etc etc etc.

What would your family and friends call you? Are they in on the reason or just think you fancy a change?
What happens when this account is taken down too?

Had account for 15 years, and got taken down on stupid mistake of sending wrong parcel as return, unfortunately it was to curry’s eBay seller , which I’m assuming is a large eBay partner and they went down on me like a ton of bricks.
You don’t have to believe me but that is truly what happened and I had none previous issues. Above average and all positive.
I’m still planning on appealing, but no high hopes.
I’m guessing change doesn’t have to be all that dramatic, ain’t gonna go for Jon Bon Jovi,lol.
There is a bit of hussle involved like you mentioned, but if effect will be 100% legit account, it may be worth it.
Especially that there’s nothing stopping me going back to my original name after a while? There’s no limit on changes as far as I understand it.

That's correct. MP killed stealth accounts so people are using real identities now. May as well just use your own real identity and stay legal.

Forgive me for being daft, this is all new issue for me. If it is like you said, what is this forum about ? Reminiscenting how things were before MP?
I was asking about changing name as last result option, but would love to try non nuclear approach if such exist.

Discussing possible ways forward, selling account related services, general selling discussions, etc..

Before MP you could use a made up name and keep an account going for years. Now that eBay is handling the money, that's not an option because they are doing everything in their power to verify each new seller account.

I'm not paying for hosting, I just post here. :lol:

So you can buy an account from a seller on the forum here. They guide you on how to operate the account. You'll have to add tax info at some point.

If you legally change your name to get a new ebay account you will go down in history as the greatest among us all!

IF I were you I'd see if you could legally just change your from "Actual Name" to "Not Actual Name"

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to get a “know how” for free, but if in the same post you guys telling me it is impossible to do it since introduction of MP and that I can buy an account from one of you (which I’m potentially willing to do). What am I buying if I decide to pay? Will it work at all?

The ebay side will work but the MP will have to be in your real name so you have to put 2 and 2 together...

That's something you'd need to have an in depth conversation with the account sellers about, if you can find one that has any accounts to offer. It seems to be really risky.

You're going to get nothing but vague answers from differing points of views by asking your questions in this manner.
