is ebay stupid for suspending so many accounts and losing $$
 

would it not be a better policy if ebay focused more on collecting the millions in fees instead of suspending so many accounts and driving sellers and buyers elsewhere. Ive noticed some big declines in ebay sales and wonder if the suspensions have caused many to just quit.

No. Ebay will sell the same amount no matter how many less crappy sellers they have.

As far as sales slumping, nationwide online sales fell 6.5% in the past month. The inevitable economic slowdown is here to stay for a while. I would expect it to get worse before getting any better.

they're not getting money only from the sellers/buyers. they have other means

if you sell the same stuff everyone else is selling,makes no difference to Ebay.
YES,online sales is slowing,people go back to brick and mortar stores or plain cutting back

True - advertising revenue for one
