Is it legal to keep supsended user's information on ebay?

If you are suspended, is it legal for ebay to keep your information on ebay?

It seems to me if you close your account then your information will be gone forever, but if they kick you out, your information will stay with ebay forever.

no one? is it IS legal?

find this: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/busi...heft/bus69.pdf

but doesn't mention how long they can keep it or can user request to delete it

its in their terms and conditions, but if they are challenged in Court and a judgement deemed it illegal then it would be easier to get your way, right now, they are the boss

I am surprised that no one is suing them for this, I mean their are thousands of suspended ebayers...

its not worth the fight. they have corporate lawyers for a multi billion dollar company. suspended sellers dont have that. it simply wouldnt be worth the time and effort exhausted.

Is it legal? probably because most big corporations have written T&C that imply their right to keep information. Is it morally correct? Most likely not but then the matter becomes a David v Goliath. ebay has more power than a lowly suspended user. It would make such a witch-hunt to ensure that info was deleted. And that would never happen even if ebay said it was gone. That's the nature of corporations:fight:

eBay is above the law. They pretty much do what they want. Even if they had to delete it how would u ever know they deleted it! Hehe thats why you use stelth info then all ebay has is some made up stuff to hold on to :D

Legal? Once they have your information whether real or not... it's theirs. And depending on what we agreed to when we sign up.. they can do what they like with that information. I don't remember reading anything about how long they keep your information... but I think its safe to say at least a few years probably longer.

I think they may be keeping info forever, just like PayPal. Otherwise, how would they be able to link you to suspended account from years and years ago..

Then we should educate everyone to never give real information to ebay and always use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ones!
