Promoted listing advanced - "Smart" or manual?

Hi all

I'm trying to boost my sales to the max with the ebay promoted listings advanced - pay per click

The question is do I use simple brainless "smart" option where ebay picks the keywords and prices or do I select the manual option and try to figure out what keywords to use and what to bid on each keyword? As a beginner the smart option sounds attractive but I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with this to help me decide.

Smart option see what it chooses and fine tune it in the future :)

Ok will do. Is it a case of analysing keywords see which ones work and ditch the ones that dont? I think ebay let me download stats on this?

There were a few services, 2 big ones to be exact that does this, but they aren't cheap. I forgot their names because to me it wasn't worth it.

Yeah I can see how using standard can help sales, but automatic seems like it may cost an arm and a leg - like giving egay the keys to your checkbook! I would also try auto then use the percentage to set manual targets in the future

Fun fact - ok the ole days when I had a true stealth I cranked promoted listings all the way up just for fun and was selling like gangbusters

EBay’s pay per click is a money maker for them and will be a bust for you. Their promoted listings is far more manageable, whereas pay per click is an unknown. I would stay away from it, I did it with Amazon and it just drained my profits.
