Ebay suspends my activity and requests "Identity Verification Required" documentation
 

Hi everyone,

I bought an account from an approved seller on this forum, but unfortunately it seems that he is missing. @EbaySellerLT if you are reading this I ask for your help.

Ebay asks for proof of identity, I have a photo of the ID and a bank statement from Monobank, although the statements are from January, so my question is if they will accept statements that old. I don't know if they ask for anything else, as I am not a native English speaker, and I am not sure I fully understand Ebay's requirement.

This is part of the text of the email:

Restriction reason: identity verification required.
You may submit your appeal within 30 days from the date of restriction placed on your account to eBay Customer Service team to restore your selling privileges by providing a valid proof of identity (POI) (i.e. Identity card, passport or driving license) and proof of address (POA) (i.e. utility bills or credit card statement) documents of your eBay account.

IMPORTANT: If the verification of your POI and POA documents are not completed within 30 days from the date of restriction placed on your account, such restriction will continue, and eBay may, at its sole discretion, remove all your listings on eBay marketplace website(s).
The safety of our community is a top priority for us. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

how long has the account been selling and what is the country of registration?

The country of registration of the account is Ukraine. And I have been selling for about four months.

PS the bank statement, easy. If the statment is in PDF, then edit it and you are easy to go

That will not work. If the Ebay employee does his job correctly he will check the PDF file and see that the PDF file is not signed. If you edit the file the signature is lost.

Monobank has a website to validate documents.

Scan it/convert it and upload it as a JPEG then.

Ebay could claim that it is not a valid document. I don't want to make any false steps, it's a complicated issue.

You don't have much choice if your worried about tampering with an old PDF.

In any event, every document I've ever sent over several accounts have always been JPEGs, I think you're reading too much into it.

Why do you not have access to a more recent statement?

I received a noreply message. There was no option available to upload documents, so I contacted them via chat. They will write to me from the specialized department.
It is a purchased account, so I cannot get more recent documents. I bought the account from a forum user, but he is missing.

ebay do not like ukraine accounts , ID request from ebay for ukraine is likely to lead to indefinite suspension

there are no items to sell from such countries so they are all considered high risk

Monobank receipts can be checked online. But same is true for most ukrainian banks. Bank and credit card statements can't be checked online by Monobank.
Another big ukrainian bank has a service which can be used to validate credit card statements but only issued by that bank.

Yes, ukrainian accounts are considered of higher risk by many marketplaces. But still had no country related issues in creating and managing them if real data of a person used and business model is not sketchy.
