We changed your eBay password for your security
 

My eBay account got restricted just today after I made a call to eBay asking them to increase my selling limits. When I was on the call with the agent he was acting suspicious and asked me if this is my only eBay account and of course I answered yes. 4 hours later my account got restricted because they believe it was hacked and now they are asking to give me a call in order to verify the account and to lift the ban. Now my eBay account is not under my name, it's under an Arabic female name of a girl I know. Should I make the call myself or give the call to the girl? This is a strong account that I had for over 6 years with tens of thousands of dollars sales on it.

Ebay rep must have noticed you are not a girl,is she in USA?
Then ask her to call Ebay.
Ebay is going to call you?will your friend be around to pick up the phone?

you need female voice for sure plus knowledge about account

in the future you do not need to call in order to request limit increase

I can arrange the call but the problem is she knows nothing about the account and she's not the best English speaker. I am not sure what they might ask her but I'm afraid if they asked her some question about the account and she didn't know what to answer then what might happen after that.

I just though it might've been fine because you can't really determine if it's a female or a male name since it's an Arabic name.

Then don't do that - try to talk in low cracked whisper to make your voice sound less male-like and be in control of the conversation.

You said Ebay wants to call you,not you call them.
(now they are asking to give me a call in order to verify the account and to lift the ban. )
You can say she is out of the country right now and I handle her account??

if your Ebay account with Arabic name does not disclose sex ,then yes,you can speak in a soft voice.

I stopped calling for limit increases. Used to work all the time for me but now it just gets my ass suspended

I remember back in 2021 when ebay started doing managed payments and everyone was still figuring things out, I signed up in my moms name and had to call in for some CS issues. I have a pretty deep voice and I tried to speak like a woman would, and it was ****en terrible. One rep let it slide when I told him my name was Maria, the other one was like uhhhh.... is the real Maria available? It was so embarrassing and I felt so uncomfortable speaking like that

It is pretty hit and miss - lot of posts exist about avoiding calling and having eb put an eyeball on the account...
