Ebay account perma banned
 

- Registered account
- I didn't use a VPN, I used my real credentials
- Bought two items (online delivery), paid via paypal 80e
- The next day I was banned

well, best regards to you too ebay, I don't plan on using this site again.

How do I get my money back, thanks to the ban I can't message the seller and I assume he can't message me either. The "goods" that were supposed to be delivered online have not yet been shipped but have already been paid by me. I have the option to request cancellation of an order.

I was buying games on stream as gifts for Christmas (cd keys).
Seller refused to cancel trade. I wrote to support, they did not explain why I got banned, they did not write anything about the violation of TOS only that my account was blocked on the basis of being "suspicious" permanently without the possibility of unbanning.

I specifically asked what will happen to the money I have already paid for the product. They couldn't answer me anything except that I have blocked trading so I can't receive anything.

The message here is clear, eBay can ban you for no apparent reason and they don't give a *** what happens to your money. This is on the level of a scam site.

I have currently put both transactions in dispute at paypal.

with the money do chargeback as unauthorized

with buyer accounts you need buying history , start with small amounts and physical items , you can mix some digital later but do not do digital exclusively

if you do not intend to sell anything but just buy you can easily open many buyer accounts , there is barely any verification there on ebay

so you use 20 buyer accounts and buy a little on each and make sure to pay with credit card only so that you can do chargeback if needed

murdered is right that ebay buyer accounts are less scrutinized than seller accounts - you should be able to buy without issue - be careful with buying digital stuff

When Ebay suspends your account,it would also at the same time send a notice to your seller telling him you have been suspended and ask him to decide if he still wants to honor the trade or refund you.
You said he refused to refund,so he would have to ship the item,so just keep an eye on it

i just find it so interesting how ebay are so hell bent on not disclosing the information that could be used to "cercumvent policy".If something as basic as just "registering an account", be it as a buyer or seller can cause so much of a stir that it leads to suspensions.Then im so curious to know what this vital piece of information is.


Every rep is so well trained on not disclosing this bit of information but id like to think one of these reps has disclosed this to a close friend or relative.What do you guys think this information is?

reps can not disclose what they do not know , they have some basic knowledge but most suspensions and restrictions come from bots so that reps have no idea what is going on

they can only guess that is why they say they need to check emails , in the email they see the reason for suspension and just repeat what they see

an example: after ebay removed automated payments for private sellers all withdrawals are policed by bots , they see a number of open disputes and ignite a review on an attempt to withdraw which may or may not lead to suspension but if it leads to suspension a rep would simply tell you that are a risk to the community as they have no idea what happened and can only guess

They can see but they are not allowed to say exactly what it is..in the case of temporary suspensions they can see... in the case of permanent suspensions that come from internal teams that review accounts, they dont have access to this information..ive done a test run and made 15 phone calls today with the 13th call giving me the precise reason and the previous ones not saying anything whatsoever.

I am sure they have notes to such accounts which contain some information but they do not know actual mechanisms

like for example when ebay send a message that all selling limits are removed and you can sell as much as you want with a restriction actioned by bots taking you down as soon as you start listing as much as you want. they really have no idea about that , they would have some idea if there were clear violation like for example VERO warnings or mass customer disputes

in cases like this, theres usually a manual review again done hence why the second take down...so if you get reinstated first time by a rep.....it goes to an internal team who dig deep and look into things within 24hrs of reinstatement and then they permanently ban you

on recent accounts , on established accounts if they reinstate and you behave you should be good to continue

Have to do a chargeback with payment. Having to do that now. Can't use any address or payment method you've used previously under a banned account or insta ban.
