| Killed by Ebay | 10-24-2007 04:36 PM | New Accounted opened I just opened a new account with the the advice and techniques that you guys share with everyone.
First off, Thanks to everyone for your help with this. i would be lost if it wasnt for this forumn.
After opening the new account i came accross a couple things that i would like to ask you guys about
1. After registering my gift card, ebay sent me a reminder that all ebay fee's will be automatically deducted from my "Credit Card". My other options that they give me is a checking account and paypal. Since i only have like $15 on my gift card, how do i get around this?
2. I opened a new auctiva account to go with my ebay account. My plan was to log on to my ebay account at the library when needed and to list my items on auctiva from my house so i wont get linked and you guys said it shouldnt be a problem but when i signed up to auctiva they required me to sign in to my ebay account so they can install an "ebay token" that will allow my listing on show up on ebay. Is that going to be a problem or something that could link to my home computer if i sign onto auctiva from home? i just wanted to confirm.
3. I made one listing just to try it out and under forms of payment it says list paypal address or other merchant information to accept payment but all it allows me to do is list a paypal address and not choose anything else. I was wondering what was going on with that? it seems ebay has changed its software cuz its different then what it was a coupel weeks ago
its supposed to be account not accounted lol |
| Mijusdek | 10-24-2007 04:53 PM | 1. Pay what you can with that GC, Next time put a higher balance on your GC so you don't have to change it every month.
2. The Ebay token, from what it says just hooks Auctiva up to ebay allowing you list using Auctiva's "stuff". It does not have anything to do with the linking you are referring to. (as far as I know)
3. I don't know anything about that, usually it gives a paypal address that allows you to chose check, money order, or merchant account. |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-24-2007 04:55 PM | well i pay like $200 a month in fee's. is there an easier way to pay my fees without getting a new card every month |
| koalawash | 10-24-2007 05:15 PM | Would you be safe selling that much right away, with a new account? |
| Mijusdek | 10-24-2007 07:32 PM | You could mail a money order, under your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name of course. |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-24-2007 07:46 PM | so i can't pay it directly with google checkout or something?
ive never used google checkout before, is it like paypal where they keep a balance like a bank account? |
| longisland88 | 10-24-2007 07:49 PM | no you cant pay it with google checkout. They do keep a balance with GC but it cant be used to pay other people, it can only be transfered to your bank account. If your accounts still going strong by the time your ebay fees are due your best bet would be to just mail a money order. I think youd be better off just opening a new ebay account though. |
| Chris Hanson | 10-24-2007 07:52 PM | google checkout keeps no balance at all |
| longisland88 | 10-24-2007 07:59 PM | so what does it keep? When you click "payouts" it tells you how much $ GC is holding. |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-24-2007 07:59 PM | ok...thats takes care of the paying fee's question. thanks!! what about the auctiva question? |

| longisland88 | 10-24-2007 08:02 PM | so every time you get a payment its sent to your bank the next day? |
| Chris Hanson | 10-24-2007 08:12 PM | Within 2-3 days just like paypal, except it deposits your money automatically to your bank |
| ebaykilla | 10-25-2007 10:31 AM | You have to create the Auctiva token with a "clean" PC (the library will work). You do it once and you are all set going forward. You can then go home and start listing auctions thru Auctiva and you will not be linked. |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-25-2007 12:09 PM | awesome, thanks ebaykilla |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-25-2007 12:13 PM | on the paying ebay fee's issue. i just tried to go on to change my method of payment to a money order type of payment but it only gives me 3 options, Direct Pay (from my bank account), Credit card (only got a $15 gift card on file), and Paypal (cant use this for obvious reasons).
So how do i got about this, i would like to just send them money orders before they try to use the credit card on file |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-25-2007 09:22 PM | ?????????? |
| longisland88 | 10-25-2007 10:36 PM | just send a money order in before they charge your credit card. You have plenty of time (at least 1 month) before they charge the card. |
| Killed by Ebay | 10-25-2007 10:53 PM | ebay inc? is that what i get the money order for? |
| longisland88 | 10-25-2007 11:31 PM | I dont know man you should be asking ebay live help that lol |
| koalawash | 10-25-2007 11:54 PM | Make out the money order to whatever eBay tells you in the payment instructions.. go to your seller account and the instructions for how to use money order as payment are in there somewhere. |
| newebayerwannabe | 10-26-2007 12:26 AM | I suggest that when you were at the library get your ebay token while you are there.
If you access your new account at home with out following aspkins rules you will in most case be linked.
Clear cookies and files and check ip address then turn the modem off then on again and check that you have a new ip. Then i think you will be safe to access the new account at home. |
| ebayhateluv | 10-26-2007 06:18 AM | HI- When You choose other method, they have you click to the next page, it generates like a cover page, with a po box address for ebay, with a SPECIFIC acct number on it, (their internal record keeping)-- I just tried it, but what I have been doing is using the gift card, i bought for the $20-- only had $19 left as they placed a $1 hold i guess when i signed up- then i got another and paid--but not the whole balance, like 50%. I am Paranoid- as last 4 accts were GONE same day I paid them off- so now I do not break my back to pay. (When I was a 3,000 fb PS, i paid it daily through paypal so i wouldnt get behind, it was easy to do bulk relists, so to rack up $2,000 in fees in a week was not hard)--
Best of Luck :)) |
| vers0 | 10-26-2007 07:16 PM | How about creating a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ PayPal account then add a gift card to PayPal. I let then charge PayPal and then the gift card gets charged. Works for me for paying fees. But I like Modee's way for handling eBay fees :D |
| yesterdaywas | 10-28-2007 07:16 PM | Question if you open a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ebay account, when you sign up with activa do you also put the same ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information you put on ebay? |
| newebayerwannabe | 10-29-2007 04:49 AM | I dont think it really matters as EB and aictiva arent linked. |
| vers0 | 10-29-2007 09:03 PM | I personally keep all the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information the same with eBay, PayPal, and Auctiva. Its just easier to keep track of. |
| koalawash | 10-30-2007 12:23 AM | Modee, you'll never believe it but I have been careful to use different passwords for my new eBay accounts now for that reason.. I thought I was being overly paranoid at the time, but now I can't believe my fears were actually justified!! That's it, I'm not putting ANYTHING past PayBay from now on! :( |
| aspkin | 10-31-2007 05:09 AM | Good stuff guys, lots of great information here. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:58 AM. | |
