eBay asking for a Selfie ?
 

Someone I know claims eBay introduced Selfie check recently. Personally I dont believe this to be the normal. I know we have discussed this previously. I still suspect this has something to do with your account creation rather than it being the new standard. Maybe it's due to Q4 or maybe something is triggering his accounts to ask for selfie. Please let me know if you too encountered this recently and how often.

Only thing I can say is that I haven't had the selfie issue check when creating accounts on a laptop/desktop and slowly easing into operation.

Perhaps, highly related to cellphone use...

Are you creating US or Canadian registered accounts? I am specifically referring to US registered accounts.

I had this asked back in 2023. I don't think everyone gets asked, like it is policy, however in a few years it would be silly not to assume this will be site wide policy. Thats just where the world is heading. Verification of everything.

I create both but my last US account created was in 2020 so my own work with newly created US Accounts is limited.

I only create accounts via laptop/desktop and most recent ones have been Canadian though.
