| | | dsdominators | 12-21-2025 04:59 PM | eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. Okay, so this is new to me.
I've had 300+ accounts suspended over the years but never have eBay did this. https://i.ibb.co/XxjySVCZ/Screenshot-1.png
Is this something new?
They have already been holding the funds for 7+ months. Usually they release after the 3rd or at worst the 6th month.
Anyone ever had their funds held for longer than the typical 180 days? |
| Etsyheadache | 12-21-2025 11:08 PM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. If you've been caught using an Alias or someone else's details they'll quote anti money laundering and fraud legislation same as Etsy |
| dsdominators | 12-23-2025 02:35 PM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. Well, that defenitely was not the case. Just a random "MerryChristmass"999... |
Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. Why did you contact Customer Service in the first place? You didn't have a bank on file already? Sorry - just trying to clarify |
| dsdominators | 12-24-2025 05:58 AM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. Everything was verified, the account is 2+ years old.
Out of the blue they hit me with the MC011 requesting tracking numbers and invoices for my orders.
Everything provided promptly, same day they requested them, and everything was 100% legit, no stealth/f@ke BS.
After they finished the review they hit me with a permanent suspension.
7+ months later, the funds are still stuck in the account and emailed them asking whats going on.
This was their reply.
Every next email they keep copy pasting the same reply...
Seems like they won't be releasing the funds.
Only once I've had this happen in the past but after 12 months they released the funds.
Hope that's the case with this one again. |

But you said you provided .
who are your wholesale suppliers? |
| murdered_by_ebay | 12-24-2025 05:20 PM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. if you had 300 accounts suspended then you must be running a high risk strategy? dropshipping , virtual items , counterfeits? |

Dropshipping.
All those suspended accounts are over the span of 10 years.
Though this funds retaining has never happened in the past ... Hope it's not something new. |

| murdered_by_ebay | 12-25-2025 05:53 AM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. and this is why they do not want to pay out , they usually do it in two types of cases
a) verification failed
b) fraudulent selling activity is assumed |
| agent006140 | 12-25-2025 07:24 AM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. Not drop shipping, but retail arbitrage (amzn and alibaba),please read Ebay retail arbitrage policy.
The auto response from EBAY saying they cannot verify your information is not correct,it should say taking Ebay customer money and then buy from another retailer and have it shipped to your Ebay buyer is retail arbitrage and is a violation of Ebay policy.
Retail arbitrage is legit, just Ebay does not like it,once your buyer finds out it comes from ALi or AMZN,he will go there and find out he can have it for less,so in the future,he will go direct to those sites.
You are in Bulgaria?,see if you can find the same items from your local wholesalers. |

AliExpress and Amazon | Fairly standard suppliers of low cost items but hard to deal with invoices |
| agent006140 | 12-25-2025 02:19 PM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. It is not just the invoices ,but the date of the invoice,-note taking customer money and THEN go to AMZN or Ali to buy the product and ask them to ship.which says he has no inventory on hand,he bought the item with the customer money .
Paypal also does not like the idea, the buyer pays via PAypal and then you IMMEDIATELY useS his money to buy from ALI/AMZN |

Anyhow... Just hoping it's not going to be a common practice with these MC011s.
The thread will serve as a heads up to everyone. Don't keep more than a couple hundred £ in the eBay account balance. |
Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. I found a reliable service outside the forum that has been getting cash back for stealthers with money tied up in pp or MP - pretty interesting. |

AliExpress and Amazon | there you go,you engaged in retail arbitrage which is not allowed on Ebay.
It is not against the law,but violation of ebay policy.
but it said it cant verify ,which is not the right answer for retail arbitrage.
go read about its retail arbitrage rules and see if it said it will confiscate your fund.
I think releasing fund after 180 days is Paypal policy as most buyers use their credit cards, and if they have not filed any chargeback,it is safe,so fund can be released, but not sure Ebay has the same policy.
Whose name is in the linked bank account? |

I must say I am also a Drop ****ter ;) and I have had a lot of accounts that were suspended in the last few years and thank God all of my payouts were received. The last one 20k was sent a few days ago and 40k payout was sent about a week ago after my account was restricted for more than a year and I was able to reinstate it LOL! |
| Camaro2SS | 01-31-2026 03:43 AM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. I think as long as you dont commit any fraud eBay will release your money. Maybe OP was committing some type of fraud. Not saying you were, just saying potentially you were. Say you provided a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ID , that would be considered as identity theft etc .. |

| agent006140 | 01-31-2026 03:25 PM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. certain items are not allowed for sale on Ebay. |
| dsdominators | 02-03-2026 11:45 AM | Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. So an update.
After I reported it to the Financial Ombudsman, I got them to reinstate the account for 48 hours, allowing me to change my phone number and bank account on file.
And that allowed me to provide them my passport + driver's license which they asked for.
They rejected both of my 100% legit documents, and said they don't believe I am providing real documents and decided to keep my money for money laundering prevention.... Like WTF, they seem to have lost their minds.
The account has been selling for 2+ years, £50 - £150 a day avg.
Practically just scammed me with a made up reason.
So yeah, for the future I won't be holding up more than £50 worth of eBay balance(just enough to cover a return or a dispute or two). |
Re: eBay retaining money after MC011 suspension. That's sick to see - rejecting legitimate documents...clearly blatant screwing you over antics |

They released 40k and 20k recently from 2 different accounts however I still have another account with 43k and 22k .... Like you I realized it's just not a good idea to keep selling once you get restricted. Especially after your post. EBay is a fraudulent company and we should treat them the same way they treat their sellers. |
