Unbelievable: eBay reinstated my account after an 14-year permanent ban!
eBay permanently banned my account 14 years ago. Over the years, I appealed about three times, and they rejected me immediately every single time.A few days ago, I decided to try one last time, fully expecting a swift rejection. Instead of an automated "no," they sent me a list of about 20 verification questions asking what I plan to sell, my dispatch times, etc. After answering, they actually gave the account back.Honestly, I don't even care anymore. I moved on years ago. For a long time, I had to throw items away or give them to charity because there was nowhere else to sell. For the last four years, I've been happily using Vinted, Gumtree, and Depop.It is obvious eBay is scrambling for buyers and sellers because they are losing ground to other platforms. Years ago, I used to run six stealth accounts with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names and addresses, but I closed them all down over five years ago when they managed payments through bank accounts instead of PayPal.They will be lucky if I ever sell anything on there again. I think I'll just stick to using it as a buyer. Has anyone else noticed them randomly reversing ancient bans lately ? |
