being reported by other users is what leads to suspension?
 

I have a hard time believing nor have I seen it proven that ebay is basicly scanning every user id and checking to make sure its legit.

Basicly it seems like suspensions happen because of either certain red flags being triggered (new account selling high dollar items, etc) or other users reporting people for previous suspended accounts.

am i right? if not, can you show me where I am wrong. I have researched this and have not found evidence.

EBay doesn't that far yet. But they do verify your Phone number and make sure your address is legit. Also you can be suspended for what you mentioned as well:

how do they make sure your address is legit? do they send mail to it? i have gotten phone calls in the past, but only if i had an ebay store, if i didnt have an ebay store i have never gotten a call.

I use USPS to research valid shipping addresses. I don't even leave my house. I use Google Earth to find a street names in my town. Then I try different address with USPS until I find a valid one.

ok, but what do you do about a phone number? do they look for a match bet the number and address or just call to see if it's a valid number?

they cant go by the phone matching the address cause alot of people use cell phones or work phones

It could just be a non-employee.

I use privatephone and have not had any problems as of yet..
