I want to hear your Stories!

I have one, but it's too long to post now. I'll post one at a later time... but for everyone else. Why are you here? Have you been suspended? What do you think about eBay? What's your Story?

Okay my story hmm... how bout my attempts?

Attempt 1:I used my bro's account on the same ip (didnt know this site) it got banned.

Attempt 2:Lets see, I found this site and then I made a new account I followed the directions, i messed up somewere on the line's and got banned. (not sure what)

Attempt 3: I found my tools that I needed and what to use to do this. I bought ebooks one cent one's (banned)

Attempt 4: I tryed selling ebooks for a dollar and 2 to gain feedback. Without any feedback to begin with. (banned)

Attempt 5: I used my friends account, woohoo worked! But! They had to verify cause I was using a different proxy.... NOTE: Make sure you change the adress and stuff on it to make it near you and use a yahoo phone for this. This does work im positive i was using this account for 3 week's I made alot of money! But #@$#$ the proxy (ip) kept giving me the third party crap every weeek. (3rd time i got it I had to call them)
Status: (Locked)

Attempt 6: I wait 2 days and then buy a dollar ebook and a 2 dollar ebook (Same Day Banned)

Attempt 7: Thought I would try again (Same day but faster banned)

Attempt 8: I did alot of research and it seems pointless from here getting back on. (creates site to sell for now) I made a user this time im just rushing it buying ebook's as fast as I can it seem's to be working. (hasnt been banned)

Other Attempts: I know im missing some here. I know I got banned more than this.

What I recodmend:Rush buying ebooks as fast as you can, even if you get that limit for buying so many and try try try try try till you dont get banned. I tryed everything except what im doing and I see alot of users get away with it and some dont. So its a chance to take. Make multiple accounts and do it. 3 ducks is better than one trying. Keep track of the info for each account and dont get messed up.

So yeah this is my short story.

EDIT: Change your ip now. Aspkin's advice does work for that. I realized ebay does detect your using a proxy.

aspkin 02-04-2007 02:56 AM

Good stuff x2ruff4u, seems you're determined!

About the proxy thing, trust me... heheh

eBay know's the difference between a proxy and a regular IP, trust me.

If you don't find the right proxy, they may ban you. Try to change your IP and use that.

Even if the proxy is fast, they know it's a proxy..

I had an ebay account for nearly 8 years I believe. i sold and bought off ebay not as primary income, but to buy something enjoy it then resell it on ebay to make profit majority of the time, but also to enjoy something then get tired then resell it. Well this year I decieded to make some money and hussle and bussle for some PS3s and nintendo wiis etc..the hot items for christmas I would camp out for them and sell them on ebay and make a profit to fund my summer vacation. Long story short I gave ebay about 3000 dollars in ebay fees within about 4 months or 3 months of perfect selling. My feedback jumped from 700 to nearly 1500 within that time frame all perfect transactions yes I sold nearly 30k of junk I was unloading. Ok now here is the stupid part on ebays part they suspend me becuase my account had my fathers address in my ebay addresses and my father has a ebay account. They consider this schill bidding, but he never bid on my items one bit. So they ban me for 7 days its the 7 freakin days before christmas imagine that. I still had 3 nintendo Wiis to unload and during this time they are hitting 500 dollars or more and I got them for 250 plus taxes. So they ban me and unban me took them over a month to do it. Now get this after being reinstated I decide fck them no more ebay selling my junk I dont need. I still have 600 dollars in fees I owe them. So to piss them off I dont pay it...so fck em for fcking me 7 days before christmas. I did nothign to ebay, but give them my money. Ebay has done nothing for me when selling my items they should be fcking happy getting my fees monthly I did nothing wrong. Ebay has never once packaged my items to send out or never once gave me any credit for shipping never done nothing for me only me doing something for ebay. Anyways thats my rant and they still keep sending me emails about owing them 600 dollars.....good fcking luck.

oh yes i tried to re-register before finding this site and got banned and im back on right now, but I didnt put in my credit card info to sell its been a month now im buying stuff I still have a used nintendo wii I need to sell Im thinking of trying it out using the simon card.

My Story as well???????????

This is my ebay horror story, after spending some time researching my ebay business looking for the downside,in January of 06 decided to take my business 100% to the ebay plateform,we enjoyed good sales and good feedback, then in Febuary 05 sales slowed, then I also had some discusssions with my account manager regarding charges to my account, what I had done is used the automatic re listing feature with out realising the amount of times this would relist my items compared to when I did it manually,I was convinced that there had been an error with my account, anyhow while this was being discussed my account was suspended in May 06,due to fees not being paid,I was furious naturally as I believed there had been a genuine error, however according to ebay there wasn't,I worked through this with my account manager and was able to arrange to pay my account, naturally the suspension lasted a few weeks so this had an enormous impact on my business, what was really upsetting was that my whole business that changed from over the counter retail sales to online sales was just turned off by ebay with no consideration to the damage it would cause my buyers and my family and I,we relied on the cash flow and profits to live of put it simply no sales no food,I could not believe the callous way ebay operated, any how afer 8 weeks we got back on line,by then sales had really slowed,we managed to get things moving again ,but the turn over had dropped considerably,me being the ultimate optermist I kept fighting on waiting for the sales to return to what they had been, this did not happen by this stage things had gotten really tuff,as you can understand no sales for 8 weeks and overheads to meet,we started to get our sales moving, but we had started to get a bit behind proccessing our orders, this I accept total responsability for, what started to happen was we recieved some items not recieved disputes,I did keep my customers informed of any delays most were great and understood some didn't,all of our disputed items would get sent out,and I did not pay any attention to the buyers that did not close there disputes, this as I was about to discover was a mistake,I ended up getting a chronic non performance suspension, this happend in November 06 sales had still been slow prior but I was convinced that the ebay plateform was still the way to go,I contacted the trust and safety people as you do,and they emailed me a big list of buyers that had registerd a item not recieved dispute after going through the list I was able to advise t&s of the buyers that had recived there items or had been given refunds, however the proof that I supplied them they would accept in some situations and not others naturally this became very frustrating, and after several emails explaining the very same information,it really was getting crazy, they would take up to a week to reply, and as we were leading up to xmas I was getting more and more upset and my financial position was deteriating badly,I was getting absolutely no where,I would get an email back from t&s and they would have the same buyers names on there list that in a previous email they had claimed that they were satisfied that that matter had been dealt with, they would not accept proof of delivery from the post office, also and this was to be expected the list of disputes got longer,as buyers were discovering my suspension they would naturally file a dispute,I tried to explain to t&s that there suspension action was panicking the buyers,in the end I kept supplying the information they asked for ,then they just stopped replying,so here I was trying to resolve the issues they raised but I was getting no replies, -----------to be cotinued

user 02-04-2007 09:03 PM

My Story as well???????????-2

I can not believe company of this size can act so childish, every day businesses have issues with each other that can usually be discussed and resolved in a pretty speedy fashion, this company is horrible,to think that you can be conducting business, okay and instead of perhaps making an enquiry to you with a please advise of the status of a dispute ,and give you the opportunity to respond in a reasonable and business like fashion, with out bringing your business to it's knee's,as they do,then to suffer the treatment they dish out, when you try to resolve the issue is just strait out insulting, when it's your lively hood, the most alarming thing after reaserching ebay suspensions is they do to hundreds of thousands of people/businesses a week, there business practices are deplorable,if there was a chronic lack of customer sevice dispute option, they would have to suspend themselves,I am resolved now to never resuming my ebay business, and my financial position is just short of bankruptcy, and all for what, because this company ebay just does not have a clue, that's my rant,Thank's

aspkin 02-05-2007 01:51 AM

Bad luck rapunzel_01, eBay has nothing but a bunch of retards working for them. They're killing their self slowly when they ban their top sellers. At least you have a new account up and running, and it's good you're taking your time with it. Good luck with that.

User, I'm sorry about your horrible eBay experience. And yes there are literally thousands of people like you who have come to depend on eBay as a medium to customers only to have that taking away in a split second. EBay has too much power I think. They control a very large portion of internet commerce and they're not doing a very good job of it. I advise you to create a website to sell your goods and use Google Adwords to advertise to your customers. Having your own website guarantees a lasting foot hold in your market and is probably a lot cheaper then eBay's ridiculous fees. Good luck to you.

My story

Thank's Aspkin

You are right about having my own site, however it's very difficult to get the number of visits that you do get on ebay, even when people are not buying the page views/visits are way more than I could achieve with my own site ,in the short term,

aspkin 02-10-2007 01:52 AM

This is true user, and the best way to get targeted traffic to your site is content, advertising, SEO, hear say, and inbound linking. Its tough getting a site started, which is why you should get started sooner then later. If you try to get things started within short period of time, you won't have much success unless you use Google adwords for targeted traffic, which can be expensive.

If I were you, make it as a project; get started now with the intention of just having a working selling website. Don't work on traffic until later.

The more pages of content you have, the more door ways you create to your website. If the content is targeted, you'll have targeted traffic to sell to. If I wanted I could create a new guide to eBay, wrap it up into an e-book and sell it here on the forums and in my blog. But I'm not going to do that. Frankly I don't have the time for it, and there are easier ways for me to make money. Like with Google ads or affiliate marketing that requires less overhead.

Start with a simple site, and build your way up from there. Trust me, its better to start now instead of later, and it's better to have something to fall back on in-case eBay starts being a Bi*ch!

I never intended to rip anyone off and I never have on EBAY. I can honestly say I did nothing wrong - no shill bidding (didn't need to - I already had hundreds of 100% positive feedback), nothing. Yet I was suspended anyway, apparently because I fit what they called a "high risk" profile - whatever that is (no one ever told me).

did you see ebays new bidding system they now have
bidder 1
bidder 2
etc..
does not show who is bidding this is totally for bid schilling how stupid can ebay get it seems to me they want bid schilling...

x2ruff4u 02-13-2007 07:14 AM

Hm I havnt seen that yet rapunzel I was just lookin at that I stil see its the same or maybe its me O.o.

They made a new rule also. The one cent feedback pre approval thing. Like now people cant make a pre approved listing to gain feedback. There gona have to make it in the auction listings, so they cant link them to the store anymore. Without that item being boughten.

Then again....well nvm lol

avarshav 02-16-2007 10:15 PM

The 1 cent listings are still up there.

Many of them require an "immediate payment" which will ask you to subtly link your paypal account to your ebay account. I'm guessing that may have had a lot to do with your problem in addition to the IP and cookie thing.

ihatebay 03-27-2007 10:40 PM

I have too long of a story so here it is in a few sentences

Account 1: Selling anime goods was 14 years old and made around $500-600 a week. Was a powerseller with 400 + feedback 3 negs. I can't remember what I was suspended for.

Account 2: Selling anime items and starting to get into DVDs. 200+ feedback 2 negs. Can't remember why I was suspended.

Account 3: Selling clothing. I was 296 feedback, I think 5-6 negs. Suspended for something I can't remember again.

Account 4: Suspended within 5 months, had 30 feedbacks or so. Don't know why, can't remember.

Account 5: Used for 6 months had 210 feedbacks, 5 negs. Suspended for 7 days, then reinstated then suspended without reason.

Account 6 & 7: Suspended for being linked to the above

Account 8 & 9: Suspended b/c either I was linked to the above (used same ip) or I sold too much during the first week ($1500)

Acccount 10: Hopefully this one lasts. If not, I quit Ebay and focus on school or something...

ihatebay 03-29-2007 11:43 PM

haha, yea that always makes me feel good.

today I just had this wish to hack into Ebay..... :p :p :p :p :p and screw up their system. :D

EbayHater 04-28-2007 09:48 AM

OK, I just had my first account suspended. I had used this account for 7 years. I was suspended indefinately because of a vero violation. But I had another account (ebay & PP) that i was using along side my first account. Everything is different ( address, IP, BAnk, CC,town). My second account that I made is still alive and well. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my first account was suspended. So far my other account is alive and well. I stopped logging into both accounts when my first account was suspended. I deleted all the cookies and the offline content like the guide says, just in case "they" could find a trace of my other suspended account somewhere. Then I waited a week before I started selling again, I am started off slowly, because this second account was hardly ever used and I dont want to send up any red flags to ebay. It has been 10 days and everything is still going strong.

HI Forum, What a great place,

Hi there firstly i must say great to find a dedicated place for posting ebay stories and problems,
I have just had a rather bad run of luck with Ebay, i had several accounts 1 with 5000feedback one with 500 and the others all over 100. You can imagine the shock when one day the 5000feedback account was just shut down i was given no reason all they said was i may be causing a financial loss to the ebay community and they cant give me any more information as it means i may be able to use this in my favor, so i would Love to know if anyone has any experience of this and knows why this happens.
Around a few days ago i had 3 accounts shut all different address's i change IP twice a day and delete cookies everytime i log in and out, they have somehow linked me to a account that is not even mine and has nothing to do with me they have also shut down a friends for the same reason, we are baffled and ebay will not even listen to us, could logging into to a account in a internet cafe be the problem???? Really keen for feedback on this and any ideas what i can do to get reinstated, also if anyone needs help on limited paypal accounts then please ask i can get them opened.
I also have another account that i have recently got opened after been shut and have the message in my inbox stating it has been re-opened but it is still limited, again any ideas as i get no contact from ebay.
I have just brought stealth ebay and had a quick read through, and i must say am very very impressed will be trying this out very soon.
Looking forward to speaking to you all and sharing top tips
