Hi. Last night our ebay account was suspended, this is the 4th account to get suspended. Of course, it was because it was found to be linked to a previous account. But the name, ip address, address, bank account, credit card, paypal account, everything was different. Is it most likely a buyer or competitor reported it, figuring out or ebay? But that's not the real problem I have...
What I'm most angry about it, is that my husband insisted to use my maiden name, my parents address and phone number to create the new accounts... I told him not to, and after he did it, my parents kept getting phone calls from paypal, and they didn't want us using their address and phone number, and my sister who lives with them told us to change it. I told him to get a po box. He was so sure nothing would happen, so sure ebay wouldn't suspend the account...but they did. My parents and sister have ebay accounts too. And theirs will more than likely be suspended too, right, because the address and phone number is the same? Is there any chance of theirs not getting suspended?? I'm hoping they won't be, but I won't hold my breath...

There's a 50% chance they'll be okay and eBay won't mess with their accounts. Probably more like 65% chance.

And it's probably Paypal that linked you. Since Paypal and eBay are linking accounts now, without you knowing about it, anything Paypal knows about you, eBay will know too.

I would use a merchant account, or a Paypal approved alternative if I were you.

HI- I used my moms info, and then my dad passed in july, so she told me to go ahead and use his name- funny thing- the deceased user id stayed active for over 6 wks, hers got canned in 2 wks, then one day when at a library, hers was active again , somehow?? SO, i listed like crazy- it lasted for another 2 wks, Did they ever suspend my moms real acct? no. (BUT-would she even care? no.).. Good Luck, )

Well, hopefully they don't get banned too! My husband thinks he knows how they caught us, with the IP address, he used a computer the other day he brought home from work and for some reason accessed the old account for some reason he doesn't even know why he did. And he thought the IP address was something in the computer, not the modem.....So, we think that's what happened now...

what do you mean with a merchant account with PayPal? how is that different or whats the advantage to it?
and what if the PayPal information was different, or if it was a totally new PayPal account different than the one linked with the old accounts? how do can they figure that out?
