Spoof Bidders Wrecking My Business

For the last two weeks all of my items on all of my accounts are being spoof bidded up to massive prices. Bids take place in last few seconds and always in pairs. All of the spoof bidder accounts are made in Germany during the summer of 2005 and have zero feedback. Two or three days later my selling accounts get suspended MC081.
HELP PLEASE any advice would be gratefully received. :help:

sandiepiggott 04-09-2010 05:30 PM

Hi This has happened the same to me. This has been going on for over a month with me. I carn't find a way to stop 0 feedback bidders from bidding and the accounts that i am loosing is unbeliveable.
Help me too please

GreenBean 04-09-2010 06:03 PM

spits. I hate those bidders.:fight: Happens lots more now as well.
You need to set your account to blocking them. I suggest you bookmark this thread for future reference. Hope it goes someway to fixing this rubbish for you :peace:

These have been with me for several months, and I have no way to deal with them. They are Australia zero feedback buyers. Look like this becomes popular on ebay.

sandiepiggott 04-10-2010 04:42 AM

Hi i have blocked all the ones that are bidding on my items but ever time they bid on new stuff with new accounts. Carn't think where they are getting so many old accounts from. They are not bidding with the same account twice just using new account to spoof. I think they are also using a spoof bidding system as the 2 bids come in seconds before the auction ends so you carn't cancel the bids.
Really am at a loss as to know what to do as you carn't restrict 0feedback bidders anymore

GreenBean 04-10-2010 04:51 AM

That is dirty play then. Best play the same way:fight:

sandiepiggott 04-10-2010 05:03 AM

how do you mean play the same way,

metroline 04-10-2010 09:03 AM

We don't know who they are. Actually they are not individuals!!! They are an organization. I am not sure they do this against ebay or against xxxx products. They bid on so many products with so many new ids. They should have a team dedicated to work on this.

RimmingTon 04-11-2010 07:46 AM

I will tell you all exactly who it is.....

CHINESE idiots trying to get email addresses of sellers for marketing purposes...

There a real pain, out bidding genuine buyers and always purchasing more than 1 item. We should start a name and shame thread for the chinese sites that resort to this bullsh1t marketing...

FattyM 04-11-2010 09:20 AM

Since you can not block 0 feedback bidders, there are only 2 ways to deal with them.
You have to set up a Buy it Now, with paypal required and immediate payment required.
Or you have to manually end the auction and sell to the highest bidder at a random time 10 minutes before the scheduled closed. You can put it you ad "because of deadbeat bidders this auction will end within 10 minutes of its scheduled ending time. So if you are interested please bid early."
Then with about 10 minutes left to go, you check the feedback of the current high bidder and second highest, and if they are 0 feedback or suspicious you can remove and block his bid. Just keep removing bids to you get to a bidder you trust and then you manually end the auction and sell to the highest with 2 minutes left to go.
You might get a little less for your product, but they usually stop harassing you when their bids keep getting canceled or they miss the end of the auction.

vetus 04-11-2010 09:23 AM

True they are a pain in the a$$... they must have thousands of stealth accounts and use them on a 12 month rotation system and wait for the non paying bidder notices to go. it will be hard to stop them especially for us sellers on our own but thinkin about it ebay could easily if they wanted to, they must use Chinese ip addresses to do there dirty work.

sandiepiggott 04-11-2010 10:24 AM

Do you realy all think they are CHINESE as all the accounts that are bidding on mine were made in 2005 and within 2 days fo them bidding the account goes with MC081
they are all made in germany so i am not sure.
How many times can you end the auction early before Ebay blocks you does anybody know

RimmingTon 04-11-2010 10:32 AM

From my experience there always brand new accounts..

sandiepiggott: Your case looks more like a competitor whos figured out that doing this rather than reporting will almost guarantee major problems for your account..

vetus 04-11-2010 10:53 AM

Same for me they were always on brand new zero fb accounts, the account countries varied, i had 1 before and the address was something like this......

Mr Englishman
3415 Manchester United Rd
London
L1 1UK
England.

it did make me chuckle. :)

riversnew 04-11-2010 12:58 PM

Just change your buyer requirements to bidders with PayPal account only. At least that'll eliminate some of them as PayPal has a limit on number of accounts one can link.

RimmingTon 04-11-2010 10:15 PM

I will throw a few of them a bone and see what wholesale sites I start getting spam from...

ballache 04-12-2010 02:47 AM

Interesting ponit about Chinese trying to get email addresses. However, no spam emails have yet been received in these accounts.
All I can think of is it is competitors or vandalism! I have heard before about powersellers doing this. If it is vandalism, I wish they would get bored!

As far as I know, when you buy something from a seller you will not automatically receive the sellers email address?

These 0 feedback acc's always ask how much for 5/10 items and will also include an email address for you to reply to.

OfficialGenius 04-12-2010 04:20 AM

For the past few weeks I noticed this has been happening under the Electronics section.
Someone with 0 feedback bidding 400+ on small electronic products. Just block 0 feedback bidders from bidding, that's all.

vetus 04-12-2010 09:53 AM

You cant block (0) feedback buyers.

I too have seen this for a long time now, accounts from all over the world, I also thought that there was a small chance that they were just guys trying to get your info so that they could Sell you something, or outright Steal your money.
I also noticed that it happens mostly with Electronics listings, which further makes me think that it is just an outright Scam.

I also think that it could also be Straight Up Ebay Haters, (We KNOW that there is a lot of those) Simply just trying to mess with Ebay, and we Just get caught in the middle, which suxs cause it brings unwanted HEAT on our accounts.

It might Even be Ebay where these accounts are some type of bot designed to seek certain items from the outside (Buyers) side to help cover any loopholes their bots have on the inside of their system. After all Ebay can create as many accounts, from anywhere in the world with any creation date they want. Also, it was Ebay that stopped sellers from blocking 0 feedback Bidders from bidding on our listings--WHY?

It could a Combination of all of the above and more.

I also think that Paypal linking as riversnew posted above in this thread helps

Who Knows?

lenny1jz 04-12-2010 05:24 PM

mmm how about sencond chance offers to the real biidders?

slapped 04-12-2010 11:12 PM

Yea, that might help you not "Waste" the listing so to speak but it does nothing to keep those Dogs Off the listing in the first place, Which is what really needs to be done, if for no other reason just to keep the "EYES" off the account. Besides in my Experience not to many people actually take advantage of Second chance offers. (about 20%, for me)

Skys The Limit 04-13-2010 01:26 AM

I`ve been getting these they bought my listing in 1 sec and request payment total and send me a spoof e-mail too ship to Africa for a friend and the e-mail says:

Payment Received With PayPal

PayPal makes it easy to receive money. For security purposes, Payment has been deducted from buyer's account and has been APPROVED. However, payment will remain pending until shipment tracking number is sent to our customer service department for verification before money is remitted into your account.

Shipment tracking number should be email to our customer service: servicesecurecenter@mail2pal.com

slapped 04-13-2010 01:49 AM

It's a scam, we all know how Paypal works. It's been going on for years now

dburnside 04-14-2010 04:36 PM

make ur listing unavailable to people with unpaid strikes and dont have credit card on file, most spam bidders wont get past this

OfficialGenius 04-14-2010 04:45 PM

I would just monitor my auctions and cancel and block every single 0 feedback bidder.

sandiepiggott 04-15-2010 07:13 AM

the problem is that you carn't block bidders with 0 feedback unless you know something I don't. If you do know how to do this please let us know.

ballache 04-15-2010 07:20 AM

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions so far. The problem with stopping zero feedback bidders is that they are using a SNIPER service and their bidds are arriving 5-10 seconds before an item finishes!

OfficialGenius 04-15-2010 07:30 AM

I'm not sure if that rule that you can't block 0 feedback bidders anymore is new.
If so, then I would just list the item with Buy it now or best offer to avoid any hassles.

sandiepiggott 04-18-2010 03:07 AM

I have just tried what you are all saying and giving advise, No joy they seem to be there every step of the way. Its the snip bidding that is another problem, Thanks for all your help but i am at a total loss as to what to do now what with Ebay susending every thing they can and if you can get passed them you have these idiots waiting at the end. I havn't sold anything in months because of them and need to do someting fast. If you all want a list of there user names so far let me know and i will post it if i am allowed.
Any other ideas would be great as now I am getting desperate.

oompaloompa 04-18-2010 05:03 AM

they cannot have unlimited ebay accounts to use, collect them all and report to ebay...the evidence is there that they are not paying, take it high, and state that if they do not act you will report to the financial ombudsman....ebay is probably a member of a Spanish one, in order to trade there..

what kind of goods are you selling? It has to be a competitor - are they high priced or very exclusive? Who else is selling them, can you narrow down competitor?

ballache 04-18-2010 05:10 AM

Hi oompalumpa, the goods are generally fashion accessories and sporting goods within the price range €100 to €300. I can survive the VERO people (ie. powersellers!) They are an occupational hazard. It's this sniping I cannot get around at the moment.
Thanks to everyone for the input!

OfficialGenius 04-18-2010 05:18 AM

Another way to tell if your auction bidders are f ake buyers is to check the items they've been bidding on within the past 30 days.
It's under Advanced search>under Items > By bidder then enter bidder's user ID check the box "include completed listings (last 30 days)" and choose results per page 200. If they have bidded or won too many items(usually more than the feedback they have) it's obvious that they are f ake.

sandiepiggott 04-18-2010 06:26 AM

I have just done what official Genius has just and this is what has come up amazing

Not possible

Privacy laws in some European countries do not allow us to pass on information involving bidders from those countries. If you want to find all auctions this user has bid on, please contact the user directly by email.

I guess it doesn't work with international bidders or something. :pout:
Try it with someone else.
Unless you don't have that feature available since your international

RimmingTon 04-21-2010 10:33 AM

Here is the email address of the wanker doing the buys with 0 feedback accounts, it isn't the addy of the accounts used, but the main one used for sales once addresses have been captured by the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ buyers..

jameseback@gmail.com

vetus 04-21-2010 11:34 AM

Lol RimmingTon, they got a dodgy website aswell google that gmail.

imthatguy 04-27-2010 04:02 PM

OK let me tell you what it is,,:

Theres a overseas organization that you can hire to destroy your competitor on Ebay for a low rate.....I used them before

Also since when did Ebay stoop allowing you to block 0 feedback bidders. Last time i blacked 0 feedbackers was like 9 months ago..

I think you still can block 0 feedbackers, dontknow why they would change it..

sandiepiggott 04-28-2010 07:36 AM

WOW that is intresting to know.I don't know when they stopped you with the 0 feedback but it is there.
It seems that when ever i try to stop these from bidding ie bloking any user with out paypal the next day i get a MC081 Susended.
I just don't know what to do at the moment as i havn't sold a thing in 3 months and this has been my income for 6 years. I have got over a lot of the problems with the help of you guys on this forum but I am not getting over this one and don't know what to do next.
I think who ever these people are if they carn't bid they are repoting to ebay and then the dreded MC081 which means you are f****d
Any help out there as to what to do next would be good.
There doesn't seem to be any other sites where you can sell. Ebay has the monopoly on it all.
HELP PLEASE
