Will ebay validate sellers identity ?

I just wonder ebay will validate seller's identity even he/she has no viloate ebay policy after selling for a while ? I heard that paypal will do so for security measure and ask for document submission. Thanks.

HI- Ive never had ebay ask, on a vintage acct- but Paypal- YES, over + over again for the last 6 yrs-about every 6-9 months for me-- (unless act dormant)-but if youre moving cash through the acct- yes- + funny thing- last year, this year _ year before-WHEN did they do it to me? JUST during the Holidays!

Paypal and ebay are much tricky now. They ask for upload the identity/utility bills information to their server rather than fax. I doubt that is it legal for ebay/paypal to keep our personal information in this way ?

So far I've gotten around uploading the personal information in 2 out of 3 accounts by talking my way around it. Once they lifted a limited account where they asked for an identity card or passport. I told them I was concerned about identity theft and asked PayPal to close the account. Next thing I know its unlimited and they apologized :D

That's my point of concern. When you told them you have such concern on identity theft and requested for account closure, they eventually opened up account for you without any document submission ? If this is the case, that's great !:D

What do you mean upload? You mean like a scanned PDF file?

Paypal allows you to upload, or xfer files to them instead of fax- its faster.. you cna upload docs or photos--example- last year they startde this-when sellers wanted to tkae pics of their inventory- how to fax that?? so- they came up with the uploading.. on the limitation page in paypal- you will see fax set- then uploads, near it
