How to start making money with the new account

I just started my new ebay account and I only have 1 feedback score. I have listed several items ( women clothing lots) and have not had any luck. I have did this in my other auctions with a different account and did really good, but now I ain't doing so good can some one help? one more thing I can't set up a store because of low feedback any ideas?

HI- try some household items, to get your feedback up-start actions at 99 cents, low reasonable shipping.. when your fb gets to 10- they"ll let you open a store, stores start at $39/month.

thank you for the advice. It just seems like my clothing auctions are not getting the crowds it used to get with my other accounts

ebayhateluv 12-15-2007 02:34 PM

Thats most likely because of the multiple thousands of clothing listings now during the holidays, i do not sell clothes, but i buy alot, i have noticed designer names being flooded in the categories, mostly power sellers....and cheap too..If you want a PS to look at, they have the right names/descripts/titles + prices, PM me..might give you an idea of a good category mix that the publics after right now ??

I agree. Alot of stuff is sliding now on Ebay

rond100 12-15-2007 04:00 PM

My percentage of SOLD auctions are down this month, I didn't expect that.

Yes, my ratio of closed to listed is only 42%, that being said, competition is tougher, more items out there, Price cutting to get the sales going on, Free shipping being offered, competitors all trying different gimmicks to get that sale--
the overall economy is not good, and the gasoline prices have cost us all.. all of this contributes to consumer spending/not spending, being thrifty, shopping around, and now we all are also fighting another battle--
we are all trying to sell the same items/ using the same gimmicks---BUT with -0- feedback accts, and relatively new accts... and then the paypal /merch acct hassles we are all facing..Makes for a tough Sale...anyway you look at it..

Wow, I thought it was only me, but I guess some people are experiencing sales a bit down....

For a second I thought because I was using a merchant account its my first time since I no longer use paypal...But I guess not

And one of my store has 300 feedback, but sells have been a bit down

Sales on Ebay is down period

Jonas 12-15-2007 08:35 PM

I know people sell cheap or low shipping and there's shipping + price in search, but I find still, the lower my shipping is the more I pay in ebay fees and the more it really hurts. So the more I can pad my shipping and make it look like legitimate expense (not gouging but just padding) then the better I do.

eBay insertion fees add up massively and if you can't get most of your items to sell, then you may pay more in ebay fees than you make.

I always try to follow ebay rules. Maybe thats why I dont get suspended all the time..

Same here. With time you start to get to know the system and find your way around it. Took me 3 months but I'm going good now.

Insane shipping seems to be the norm in my category. $.99 to start with anywhere from $9.99 and as much as $14.99 for shipping. The average seems to be $12.99 for shipping. But, most of these items are vero. So, I guess people don't mind.

ebay100 12-28-2007 07:21 PM

I noticed it too..

all my sales on stuff that did sell well is down..

Too many others doing the same thing for sure..

EB:confused:

ebayhateluv 12-28-2007 09:14 PM

Yes, My entire Category Mix was off by about 45 % versus last year same months..AND--- I spent more in advertising/ebay fees this year, as I didnt have a Store this year...

ivegotinfo 12-29-2007 12:03 AM

i was all vero, in july i sold like $5000-6000, listed my entire stock all at once, no probs, came back from vacation september...and ... barely can list 1 item.
