Got a call that I was suspended, But im still selling???
 

Hello,

I got a call this morning around 11 that I was being slapped with a 12month suspension, I have been able to use my account all day and am still currently selling. Do you know if they are just behind or do you normally get suspended right away? Thanks guys!

I was notified by email / ebay message and it was suspended immediately.

Yeah its really weird, she said I would get a email in 5 minutes explaining everything but I never got it and so far im still selling. Hope it lasts.

I would sell as much as I can fast with Buy it Now listings or 1 day listings - OR - Stop selling and wait for a while because all the funds you make could be frozen anyways in your Paypal account soon!!!!!!

Can they hold my funds if it is currently being transferred to my bank???

Yeah I agree, your account is more then likely going to be suspended very soon.

They can stop the transfer if it shows pending, if it shows complete, they cannot. It usually takes around 24 hours from the time you click withdraw, to show complete.

I Never heard of Ebay calling to suspend you, Calling about Verification, and other things, yes, all the time, but to Tell you that you are suspended, Never. Always by E-mail/Message.

Anyone else ever get a call like that?

I've got a call from eBay one time telling me my listing was removed and I will be suspended for 7 days. I didn't answer the phone, they left it on voicemail.

What was the area code and first 3 digits of the phone number in your caller ID?

The area code was 801 and showed up as midvale, UT. Anyway as of now I am still up and running :pry: hope it lasts as long as it can. I thought the 12m suspension was kind of steep, I had a vero in feb and this past week I had a listing taken down because they did not like the wording I used in the title apparantly "members of the community" questioned the authenticity, her question was if the photo is stamped with a logo why not list it as such? I just said I found my visibility in best search increased using the wording I chose. Maybe she was satisfied with my answer? Im not sure but if it doesnt work out I will try purchasing a account or stealth. Thanks guys

Did they ask you for any personal information associated with the account? I highly doubt it was Ebay because they always just shut you down by email and then ignore you.

Yup, I suspect that was a spoof call from a competitor going too far or an attempt to phish from you.

The number is 801-545-1800 I called it back and it says its ebay. She didnt ask me for any information and seemed to know all my violations and exactly what I got restrictions for. Well still up and running as of now, do you know if multiple withdrawls from paypal will redflag? I am unsure of when I will get suspended so I dont want to leave any money so far I have done 2 in 24hrs.

I've gotten a phone call for a seven day suspension before. It then happened within minutes of us hanging up.

I just missed a call from this number. I used the cell number they called to activate my account a few minutes ago, so I don't know who else from Salt Lake City would have called me within an hour of activating my eBay account. So, to everyone who thinks it's a scammer, and not to say that I can't call anyone I want using ebay's number as my outgoing caller id, I highly doubt it was anyone but eBay unless they JUST gave my cell number to someone else. Caller ID "spoofing" only costs me $3.99/year--I only use it for business purposes, not posing as someone else, but it wouldn't be hard for someone to pretend to be eBay.

Just because ebay does have this number does not mean that it is always genuine. A scam could involve spoofing the caller ID display. Not hard to spoof it and then go on a phishing safari. Since ebay suspension is typically done via email, any call from this number relating to suspension is very likely NOT genuine.

Thanks guys, Im not sure what is going on but I will keep you updated of my status. :pry: So as to my second question, when and if my account gets suspended what happens to my paypal? I have been transferring any leftover money and I have done 2 in the past 24hrs am I going to red flag anything???

2 in 24 hours is probably considered suspicious by 'them'. Especially if the amounts and the timing look like you are pretending to not be 'cleaning house'.

Paypal does not always go down. Right now I guess you've a waiting game to play:)

How much were your withdrawal requests for? Also how much is left in the account right now?

The first was 700 the second was 200 and I currently have 150 right now...I make around 100-300 daily and I normaly let me balance build up and withdrawl once a week so this is not a normal habit. Thanks for any info.

Could have been a competitor spoofing the ebay number with the intent of causing you to panic and do exactly what you did. Easy way to get rid of you.

I will say it again, Ebay NEVER Called to tell me I was going to be Suspended, They Just Did it and sent me a E-Mail

@slapped, most of us have had the same treatment. I've had calls from T&S when disputing matters but never to suspend.

Let me know the day we battle to suspend ebay :fight:

were you able to get your money out or did it get reversed. And did you question why you were being suspended when ebay called.

Yes I got most out but I buyer just filed a did not receive dispute :doh: with me so the last of it got reversed. I am going to wait as it does not seem that my paypal has been restricted, :cheer: also ebay owes me some money because they credited my account for my listing fees so I have to keep my paypal up for the refund. I did ask the ebay rep and it was because of the vero and they did not like the wording of my listings. Anyway I am currently reading ebay stealth and will be back up soon :typing:! Thanks guys

I still think you got tricked by a third party into communicating with ebay. Then you got ebay's attention. Then problems developed. Some sellers do that. And it works. So be aware, in the future. Not everything is always as it seems.

Salt Lake City has been eBay's first remote customer support center since 1999.

For a competior to have done it then he would have to purchased a item from him and then request the contact information through Ebay to get his phone number. Otherwise how would he have gotten it if the account is all stealth information?

Check with Paypal. If the person uses a verified PP account, you can easily get the info if the person put their phone in as the 'customer support phone number'. No need to buy first.

Yes, I got a call as well, message left was , this message is for ..my name.. and that there is a message for me on ebay .. I went in and saw my suspension.
BUT HOW IS IT THEY SUSPEDED YOU FOR 12 MONTHS? I never heard of that , it can be a 14 day restriction, or a 30 day , but I never heard of 12 months.
