feedback extortion - account suspended

My partner has had his ebay business account suspended due to feedback extortion.

His business relies on ebay as a selling platform and this suspension will likely see him go under with 3 staff taken with him.

The "extortion" was as follows:

"Hi, your item looks to have been damaged by the courier so i will happily give you a full refund in exchange for positive feedback"

I can see how this could be interpreted as extortion but surely its just the voice of a seller offering a good honest service that deserves positive feedback.

Either way i think its on over reaction by eBay that will cause my partner to lose his sanity and a lot more.

The account has no other issues.

Any way to review this?

Thanks

why not just file a claim with the courier, resend a new item, or replace, send them a $20.00 refund for the inconvienence, probably get a positive feedback for outstanding customer service, and move on.

Clearly looks like a strong arm tactic for feedback. This type of activity is clearly unacceptable, and ebay rightly so made a good call.

shame on them.....

Do those two comments work together? No. It was a bone head message to send to buyer to say the least. Naturally buyer was pissed. "Please" leave me positive feedback is a world of difference to I will "exchange" your refund for...

ebay did not overreact. Your buddy used a crappy way of wording a request for pos feedback. It sounds like "no feedback, no refund". I'm guessing that's not what he meant. Have him call ebay and try say it was just poor wording and he just meant to ask they not leave negative for damaged shipping.
