eBay/IC System Collections - Acct Suspended
 

I found this site on Google and I think it is great. I've had my account for 9 years and was selling in excess of $5,000/week until eBay "took away" my top rated status, leaving my search standing in the dust, generating no sales per week. So, I didn't feel like paying them and eventually owed eBay $200. I just recently got collections calls from IC Systems(hooked up to my Google Voice number, so I never answered and blocked their numbers!) and received a collection letter. Here's the problem...the name on my account is false as well as the address (well it is a PO Box). Do I send a debt validation letter or ignore it? They can't touch me or my credit score at all...correct? It clearly says my false name and PO Box on the letter. Thanks and screw eBay!

Unless they have your SS # they cannot report to the credit reporting agencies...I agree with you SCREW EBAY!! eBay will be hurting even more next year when the IRS gets their info from Paypal for taxes...Everyone who gross' $20k or above gets reported to the IRS!! Love it huh?!

Is that the truth? They are trying to report eBayers to the IRS now? Good thing I'm out of that business. :)

I don't recall giving a SSN..at any time was an eBay user required to give one? I mean, the name on the collection letter isn't mine, neither is the number, just the PO Box. So eBay is SOL??

Sure sounds like - you owe them only $200? I doubt they will force a check on the p.o. box - you should be fine.

There was no way to fix this or make it somewhat profitable? Seems like an account worth working for.... but as far as collections go, they can charge your ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name all they want... I wouldn't sweat it.

besides, theres a certain amount the debt has to be to even be allowed on your credit report. I know in Canada it's around $300 I believe. Probably the same in the US I imagine?

Can Ebay try to collect a few hundred in selling fees if they don't have your SSN?
I was completely suspended from Ebay today, so, if there are any fees, I'm not paying them, SCREW THEM BUT the name is legit and so is the address but they don't have my SSN, should I be worried?
Also the phone number is a service I used where it is forwarding my calls to my cell phone, I am trying it out free for a month so once the trial is up, I am not going to continue using them so they can't call me at least but can they come after me?
