The Way Ebay and Paypal Track You !

I dont believe ebay and paypal can ban you via ip by itself. It takes more than that like same phone, info and so forth. I usually go to my public library and there's hundreds of people surfing the net and ebay. I've checked the ip address that's floating around and it seems to change maybe once a month. So if u get banned with an ip in the library other people's account are gona get banned also, which seems unreal to me that would happen. Ip's are not the case in a banned result there has to be proof like they say in a court of law, evedence, info, phone numbers, bank accounts, credit cards, same street address and so forth. I've been banned hundreds of times and been playing with this for a while in my public library and hevent seen a banned with same ip as long as I use different info.

It's not only based on IP but that plays a factor.

To a degree you are correct. We've found on the forum here that it can be more than a repeat of an IP.
That said, the idea is to have an account that can withstand any 'manual' review by ebay/paypal staff.

Once an account gets manually reviewed, we do know that an account's life may be over. The suggestion is to be completely 'new'. It's a solution that works very well and one that I recommend for anyone.:pop2:

About 2 years back, I was trying the public library computers. Despite knowing stealth, one account did get caught. I'm not going to suggest that it is consistently fine to use a library. There's always the potential for getting linked. :pouts:

Right, an IP address isn't everything, rather it's a combination of dozens of little things that eBay and PayPal use to link accounts. This is discussed extensively throughout the forum and eBay Stealth.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.

Cheers!

While the IP address IS just ONE piece of the puzzle, the goal is to eliminate as many similarities as possible. And changing the IP address is doable.

The OP mentioned that eBay has to have proof, like in a court of law...

The truth is, they do NOT have to prove anything. If they feel there is enough evidence to link an account, even circumstantially, they simply close the account - end of story. There is no oversight, nobody has the power to review their decisions.

eBay will NEVER tell a user the exact reason they were banned. Several people have been told that if they want that information, they would have to have a court issue a subpoena for it. WHY? Because they never want to give anybody any ammunition they could use to make a case against eBay, especially in court.

As a rule, I always try to make each account look totally separate, as much as possible. Different PC's, IP's, ISP's, Banks, etc. The more differences there are, the better.
