okay to set up a new account?
 

Hi all,

I was wondering if it will be ok for me to create a new ebay account with my real name, address, etc after being temporary suspended for 7 days for alleged shill bidding.

They said that during the suspension I am not allowed to use Ebay at all including using existing accounts or creating a new account and I have abided to those conditions Ebay also told me that i can appeal to get the account reinstated after the 7 days is up but I decided not to do so
and the actual suspension happened a few months ago.

So if i decide to setup a new account will that be violating any ebay rules
as ebay told me that I was officially suspended for 7 days from actually using ebay
some time ago.

Probably not a good idea to use your suspended info. I would either appeal the suspension or create a new account with new address, phone, etc..As I understand it shill bidding is a hard one to get reinstated for but its worth a try..if it doesn't work create a new one with NEW info using this site as a guide. If you were to create an account right now with the same info as the shill bidding account you will get suspended indefinitely and would be a waste of time.

but what i don't understand is the whole "temporary suspension" thing that ebay penalised me for some months ago.

Does being temporary suspended from ebay mean that i am not able to use ebay at all (e.g. using another account, creating a new account) until the allocated time for my suspension (7 to 30 days) is over even if i do not ask for a reinstation of my original account?

Yeah, that's what it means. They don't want you to use or create other eBay accounts. How long have you been suspended now?

If it's more then 30 days, then start work on creating a new account,

If under 30 days… continue with the reinstatement process. It's a 50/50 shot at getting your account back.

I was temporary suspended around june last year and that was for only 7 days, it's just that after the 7 days were up i didn't apply for reinstation,
I haven't used ebay since then, but now I am considering starting a new account
