| | | imsovip77 | 01-05-2008 12:53 PM | Constantly Getting Suspended Has anyone had any success selling with accounts created in 2008. I create new accounts with totally new info, change ip address, new paypal account, new simon giftcards, yet everytime I list an item to sell im booted within an hour! Abusing Ebay. I don't buy feedback or anything like that. The last time I only listed one dvd using the 7-day listing. Suspended! Please help. Thanks |
| hateebaymorethanyou | 01-05-2008 01:29 PM | Are you using dial up?
A friend of mine had problems like that until she started using dial-up.
Turbo lister was also giving her huge problems. |
| ivegotinfo | 01-05-2008 01:34 PM | are you listing a lot of items the same day you sign up? |
| imsovip77 | 01-05-2008 01:45 PM | no im using comcast cable. Dial up is too slow lol.
at first when I kept gettin suspended i was listing lots of items but on my most recent account. I list one friggin dvd, and boom. I clearly state the dvd is authentic not copied or bootleg. Yet I'm suspended for abusing ebay. No warning or anything. Suspended not even ten minutes after listing my first item for sale. I know no one is reporting me because I get suspended before the items even post. If i dont sell anything, nothing happens but as soon as I create a sellers account, BOOM. This sucks becuase I have spent about $200 so far on simon cards lol. I am about to give it one more try before permantly moving on to amazon.
I've had success selling on amazon but, they hold your funds for the first 30 days after you start selling in volume so I'm afraid to keep selling and they decide to keep my funds after i've already shipped my items
Any more help is appreciated |
| hateebaymorethanyou | 01-05-2008 01:55 PM | Seriously .. try a dial up connection.
It's slow yes - but it makes money. :)
I hate using dial up and only use it for ebay stuff -- but it does work.
A friend of mine had the very same problem .. she went down the list of to-do's that Aspkin has for getting a new account and was doing everything except using dial up. Each time she tried to list .. BAM! .. she as booted.
She then tried dial-up and it worked! Worked until she didn't pay her fees .. but worked none the less. :)
Good luck!
By the way - do the simon cards always take about 24 hours to be sent to you? I'm looking for a gift card that takes less time so I can help someone set up an ID tonight. Thanks. |
| myshtern | 01-05-2008 02:03 PM | What if you buy someone else's account? |
| yesterdaywas | 01-05-2008 06:57 PM | That is weird.....I opened a ebay account 2 days ago and put up 10 items up....Mine is still there....
Is your ebay account and paypal account have the same information? Because if it doesnt match then that might be it..... |

Thanks. | Ive noticed simon doesn't send any cards Fri eve thru Sun. If you buy over the weekend you won't get it till Mon, but if its a weekday and early in the day I usually get it later that day. |
| ebayhateluv | 01-05-2008 09:19 PM | HI- sounds like you must have some ebay/paypal bugs on your pc-- if youve already cleared cookies, ect--why not try a format of the hard drive?
(I just buy another hd)- but maybe you can save some money + format..
then, change up everything-- I mean everyting-- THINK LIKE THIS---You are on the Witness Protection Program--then let your actions be your guide...
Good Luck! |
| hateebaymorethanyou | 01-05-2008 11:42 PM | I bought an older computer for $75 ... it's as slow as a dinosaur and I use dial-up which makes it slower than a dead dinosaur -- but it works to keep me away from the ebay police.
I was told by someone who works on computers that there's a .DAT file that never gets cleared even though the programs say they clear it. He said something about the government using that file to catch people with their child porn.
Now I don't know if that's true or not - but because I had been linked and didn't know why - I bought a used computer. Didn't have any problems after that.
An investment of a $25 gift card - a $75 used computer and some major patience with a dial-up connection .. will have you on the road to ebay sales again soon. :)
I supppose a new hard drive would work too though .. huh? :) |
| koalawash | 01-06-2008 01:27 AM | Be sure not to list for at least a few hours after creating the account, as others have mentioned. Also NEVER do a 3-day auction when you still have 0 feedback. I found this out the hard way! :( |

He said something about the government using that file to catch people with their child porn. | With Windows 98, it was possible to clear the .DAT file you're talking about (as I had done it successfully myself!) but you had to know exactly what you were looking for and where it was, since even enabling the view of hidden and system files didn't make it visible through a simple directory search.
I'm not sure if/how they might have changed this with XP/Vista though. |
| aspkin | 01-06-2008 05:51 AM | Becoming suspended that fast usually means you've been linked to a suspended account. This can happen a number of ways.

| topazcorp | 01-06-2008 02:15 PM | Use another OS like Linux! The .dat thing only applies to windows and IE/Firefox so with a linux pc and opera web browser you don't have to worry about that. |
| GreenBean | 01-26-2008 02:46 AM | Would You Please Explain  Linux I understand. "Opera", I do not know. Is that a web browser?
Also what is dat .dat? (So hacked off with ebay), I am taking everything into
account. Yes, I am re-reading the guide of Lord Leader.
I use ADSL with XP professional and firefox at the moment. Should I go
'witness protection' and change all? |

What I do is setup a specific browser on each of my cumputer to work with a VPN network. I have 2 VPN and one ADSL connection so one dedicated ip for each computer. With this method I can sell on three different account at the same time without any risk of being linked. The three computer have the same mouse, keyboard and speaker thanx to synergy and I've got three lcd screen side to side on my desk so it's really easy to manage, it's like having on big computer:cool: |
| powerbid | 01-26-2008 07:49 AM | i m doing the same what your are doing with just one pc :D |
| twdell | 01-27-2008 08:36 AM | i bought a cheap e-machines computer for $250 and set up a new accout with a family members info, and i also started up 3 new accounts using my old computer. i always use ccleaner before logging into a different ebay account, and i change my ip address a lot. i have all 4 accounts still running and it's been about 5 or 6 days for the few auctions i have on each. i use comcast amd no problems. i just think it's real important not to ever open an old email and to make sure to clear the cookies with ccleaner. |
| CashDola | 01-29-2008 12:07 PM | PM me maybe I can help. Thanks |
| CashDola | 01-29-2008 12:10 PM | I using my IP (overseas) logged in all my friends ebay accounts for listing but they don't cancel or suspend me. I think ebay will only target on newbie seller with 0 feedback. I have no problem of using my friends accounts almost 2 years. PM me for more details. Thanks | | All times are GMT -5.
