Creating sellers account

When creating a sellers account it takes you to the create a listing page before you create the account (enter your info to pay fees). I have heard not to list right away after making the account. So should I just create the listing but not post it? Or is there a way to create the sellers account w/o going thru the listing part first?

Some people in this forum suggest creating one account each day. Is it okay to create a buyer a/c first then convert to a seller account when needed?

hi- i usually do a generic, very very basic first listing, i.e. maybe a bic ballpoint pen, starts 99 cents, 7 day listing, something everybody has access to at their local walmart or staples..
--its a non threatening item..IF--you dont want it to sell (just doing it to get the sellers acct started)-- list 1 bic pen- (come in pack of 10)-- but list 1 single pen, with shipping at 4.85, so why would someone spend over 6.00 for a pen that sells for 10 cents?? they wont..
--SO_ youve accomplished your setting up of your sellers acct...
NOW--go over to auctiva--with your token already created---upload your images- get your listings ready + saved,,, then when youre ready for action----just hit SEND...

You can create a seller's account before listing anything. Go to the 'Help' section on eBay, then to the 'Seller' section. There's a link there to create a seller account.

or you can go into "My eBay" > Profile > Personal information > Edit/change Credit Card information. Once there you can add your CC.
